Help needed - Sensible Football-related present for 6 year old

Have a look in WH Smith I am sure I bought one of my DGSs a
football diary there with all the teams etc,it helps with the reading and
helps them to understand how the team fixtures work,and he can take
it with him when he goes training.(best of luck i can still remember
my eldest son at six telling the manager at football i had plenty of time
to wash the team strip after every game,i did it for 10 years )

Thank you glammanana and jangly for the ideas. I guess I will have to get out to the shops and see what I think he can cope with, but at least now I have an idea where to look.!

Do remember that the football season is closing and topical football related books will be all too quickly "last year's model".

I like Jangly's idea very much (thank you Jangly) and have just bought it for my eldest boy who is 8 but if your boy follows the fortunes of a Lancs team, or (horror) even Man Utd., then a Chelsea story might not warm his wee heart. Just joking, the reviews look promising.

last Christmas I bought my grandson a smallish table football game from one of the gadget shops. Another idea you might consider, a duvet set, football themed of course. Why not 'google' football themed presents for children and see what comes up?
