Anyone on duty over half term

My two youngest DGC are 7+9 and we are going to the museum on
Tuesday to the local library for paper modelling on Wednesday and to our local park
on Friday with some mums and pals for a hide the cake game followed
by playing on the swings (by the grown-ups),it does take much effort
and the entrance is free to all the places we go to.

should be does not take much effort sorry folks!

www.naturedetectives.org.uk try this site, they have lots of fun things to do/download. I've used them in the past for my grandkids. My grandson especially enjoys anything like this.

Yes getmehrt, I did Sunday night, all day monday, monday night and all day tuesday. With 3 under 5's I have come to work today for a well earned rest !!!

We did the park (again) the fairground (very expensive) fish and chips, football, cycling and dollies..... wow so many things to do, so little time.

I can imagine how you feel gillybob thats usually me! But my Daughter has had holiday this week so I have been let off the hook, I live with them so quite difficult to get any time to myself, but she has organised allsorts for them, so I have done my own thing all week been lovely, but back to work tomorrow.

With 3 & 5 year old grandsons, we make our own playdoh (keeps in the fridge for a month) then lots of rolling and cutting shapes.
We play shops with store cupboard bits plus veg, real shopping bags, lots of 1p and 2p coins.
Water the garden...they have mini watering cans they fill from outside tap and spend ages going backwards and forwards.
Go on a bus journey, just a round trip without getting off the bus.
They love feeding paper through the shredding machine.
They also love making 'confetti' with a hole punch each and a pile of scrap paper. (Have the hoover plugged in ready to go)
Threading dry pasta 'tubes' onto green garden wire passes half an hour or so.
Hardly any costs involved in these things
Would love to hear other ideas for similar age groups.

Lucky you glassortwo !! Although we really wouldn't have it any other way, would we? I just hope my grandchildren are as close to me as they get older as I am to my own grandma who is still very much an active granny aged 96 !!

Some excellent ideas Notsogrand. I am definately going to use some of them when I am back on duty next week !
