Hi, I was wondering if any other grandparents have had the problems I'm encountering with my grandaughter who is just four months old. She is a very contented and happy baby EXCEPT when I try to feed her!! She is breast fed but happily takes expressed milk from a bottle when given to her by her mum and dad. I have started looking after her for brief spells, ready for when my daughter in law returns to work, when I will be caring for her for two days a week. She refuses a bottle from me and will scream herself to sleep. Help! any suggestions?

Do you keep a supply of bottles and teats at your house, if so are they the same as Mum and Dad use at home.

Mum brings all the bottles and teats with her when she comes, all ready to use. I defrost expressed breast milk and pour it into a bottle. My grandaughter used to accept the bottle a month ago, but now refuses! I can only think that she is a little older and wiser and now knows that I'm not mummy!

She is missing her mummy smell, get DIL to give you a top that she has worn and place it near granddaughter at feed time.
