Vaccination is so important that I would beg people to encourage their daughters, sons and everyone to have their children immunised against killer diseases.
Yes, killer diseases. We forget nowadays that measles, mumps, diptheria and polio used to kill and cripple children. Why? Because those of us born in the 50s and 60s were immunised as a matter of course; it was accepted as being a 'good thing'.
Now, I'm not saying that some babies have not possibly been harmed by vaccination, but that is so desperately rare that the possibility of them suffering serious harm from getting one of the preventable illnesses is far, far higher.
We also need to consider children who, for some very good medical reason or condition, cannot be vaccinated. To keep them safe we need those children with no risk factors to be immunised to help keep them safe and prevent epidemics occurring as they used to.
Yes, your baby/ grandchild will be ill or off colour for a few days, but the benefits so outweigh the risks that it is worth it, for everyone's sake.
