Great Grandparenting

I see such a lot on here about grandparents but most of my grandchildren are in their teens and twenties and so posts relating to young children are no longer relevant to me. However I do have 3 great-grand-daughters and 3 step- great-grandchildren so I am still busy enough with them. In fact we will soon be taking on the care of one of the babies so that her mother can go back to work. Strained finances and housing problems are by far the greatest issues facing my family today and I do whatever I can to help them.

There are many great-grandmothers on GN.

...... and so posts relating to young children are no longer relevant to me.

This is a rather confusing statement when you go on to say that you have GDGC and you'll soon be taking on the care of a baby! hmm

Do I detect a note of pedancy ??grin

Welcome to the forum mgtanne smile there are great grandma's, grandma's and those with no grandchildren or children on here, so a range of subjects to please everyone.

Welcome mgtanne! Congratulations on being a ggm! How beautiful of you to give time to help your gcwith their kids, etc! But where are the gps? Surely, you did "enough" babysitting when they had their children? Why isn''t it "their turn" now?

Welcome MgTanne - you must have been a young mum and a young granny and still looking great!

Starlady surely it is not your place to question what her family arrangements are?

mgtanne71 I agree with you, strained finances are the greatest issues facing my children.

Babysit GC and GGC, as needed, to save their parents some care costs. One of many enjoyable tasks we can do to help them survive the current economic nightmare. smile

Do you mean pedantry, grannylyn65 ? Oh the irony! smile

Starlady Sun 23-Apr-17 03:22:37

Jaima, surely it is not your place to censor other GNers?

MawBroon Sun 23-Apr-17 03:37:17

Nobody is censoring anybody as far as ai can see, perhaps the question about gp's was seen as intrusive however.

MawBroon Sun 23-Apr-17 03:38:13

That should "as far as I can see"!!

Jalima1108 Sun 23-Apr-17 10:12:03

Jaima, surely it is not your place to censor other GNers?
No, I just questioned your post!

But oh, the irony
grin

I hope you weren't offended by my question, mgtanne. I'm not criticizing you or your family, just wondering where the gps are in this scenario.
