All ready for business...pull up a chair smile

MawBroon Tue 14-Feb-17 12:16:07

Still awaiting "the call" from the Dr, hardly dare go to the loo in case I miss it.
Yes, servants would be a good idea - can you get them on the NHS?
Leg (perversely) actually feeling a lot better but I tossed and turned a bit after googling what I imagine you lot were kindly hinting at.
We shall see what he/she says.
(Later)
Appointment on Friday morning. Hmm
When I started writing this, the "old" kitchen was still there.......
Blink and it's moved!!
Who's going to christen it with a brew or even a cheeky wine?

soop Tue 14-Feb-17 12:22:01

NanaandGrampy Many thanks for opening the new extension. flowers

Here we are again
Happy as can be
All good pals
And jolly good company.

I've just returned from the care home visit. Have a few jobs to do before returning to catch up with all the happenings since I left earlier today.

Judthepud2 Tue 14-Feb-17 12:47:18

Phew! Thought I had lost you all! Ann how gorgeous is that puppy! I'm sure he will be loved to bits when he joins your family.

N&G your little Sam is beautiful! I take Georgie to the grooming parlour in our local Pets at Home. They are lovely girls who do an excellent job. Wouldn't put G through that at the moment, or the groomers. We keep having to hack off clumps of hair that are tangled due to her slithering across the floor. Taking her to our own vet this afternoon. She keeps having bouts of shaking. I think she might be in pain.

Off to do another session of 'walking', G in back leg harness held by Mr Pud and me walking on my knees moving her legs in a walking motion. I wish I was 20 years younger!

Grandsons here all week due to half term. 1 with a tummy bug, the other with a sprained wrist. ?things can only get better?

Happy new kitchen! ?

Greyduster Tue 14-Feb-17 13:18:06

Oh, jud what a time you're having. Sending you and Georgie (and your GSs) a big hug. Let's hope the words of the song come true soon!

soop Tue 14-Feb-17 13:18:18

Maw Good! Delighted that you've seen sense. I would have hoped you could have been seen sooner.

Jud The moment I returned home I popped into the kitchen, wrote a few messages, attempted to post - only to find that the kitchen had been closed. Dare I say...I suddenly felt "lost"...isn't that a daft way to react. Replies on a very wee piece of paper, please.
Georgie is bound to have moments when the stress of her awful encounter with the van surfaces. After Rory returned home, soaking wet and badly injured (we now think that he met a mink beside the burn) he had episodes of spinning around until he was in a daze. He's not had one such session for some months.

However, thanks to NanaandGrampy I managed to locate the newly opened extension. That was most thoughtful of you, Nana.
Those two boys are a joy. Sam is certainly pin-up beautiful.

soop Tue 14-Feb-17 13:22:07

Ann Stevie G is an absolute darling. I would so love to kiss and cuddle him. I'm betting that he'll add a very welcome new dimension to your lives.

NanaandGrampy Tue 14-Feb-17 14:50:13

You're welcome

NanaandGrampy Tue 14-Feb-17 14:51:04

Oops trick fingers

You're welcome soop but it still wasn't the kitchen till you arrived !

soop Tue 14-Feb-17 15:14:10

Nana Awww....

Dear MacSporran is home. I've missed him. Daft as a brush-me. Guess what, when he arrived for the video interview, the video recorder was out of action. He received profuse apologies and the interview was carried out using his mobile phone. When he asked why he couldn't have attended an interview in Campbeltown, he was assured that the matter will be investigated. As far as the interviewer is aware, Campbeltown office is still functioning. Hell's bells, buckets and blood. I need a quaff of something uplifting. Anyone for Champagne! Any cupcake on offer?

kittylester Tue 14-Feb-17 15:49:21

Found you at last! You forgot to leave a trail of wine for me!

Soop, that's a buggeration if ever there was one.

Maw, let us know how your phone call with the GP went.

Sorry to hear that your second viewing didn't go ahead N&G. It's very wearing isn't it - being up in the air!

Lona, I can't remember whether I said that I was chuffed to hear your results - if I did, it's worth repeating. I bet I'm not as chuffed as you. grin

Jud, I hope everyone gets a little bit better soon.

Peace reigns here currently as DD2 has taken the girls to see their uncle. I decided against clearing up the devastation in favour of GN and a brew - anyway, they are coming back!! grin

While I was out this morning, lovely DH booked a break for us in our favourite hotel. I'm really looking forward to it!

I'm afraid that I am going to have to lay down a rule in this kitchen. STOP posting photos of cute dogs - it's unfair on those of us trying to resist the tempation.

cornergran Tue 14-Feb-17 16:15:18

Totally agree kitty, seeing Sam and Stevie G who are both just too cute has encouraged me to nag for request a dog again. Its not working, though. How lovely to have a treat booked for you, something to look forward to after the reorganising.

Goodness, soop that was a buggertion of magnificient proportions. Cant provide any cupcake today, it would be full of germs, but happy to join you in a quaff of anything to take my mind of how rough I feel, it would be good for the throat too grin.

Hope your knees have survived, jud, and your vet can reassure you about Georgie. Its horrid when we think an animal is in pain.

What a disappointment N&G, can the estate agent sort it out or have the potential buyers backed away? Either way not positive for you today.

I'm wondering if you have heard anything about your plasterer's wife, charley, that sounded to be more than a minor illness.

Right, that's me for today. I plan to curl up and feel very sorry for myself for an hour then as Mr C can still eat when snuffling we will cook our planned meal. Hope he has a good appetite, mine has flown away.

soop Tue 14-Feb-17 16:21:44

kitty A trail of crumbs was snuffled up by the kitchen pets. Carpet is as clean as a whistle.
Wise choice. Best relax here with us lot...once the children return the house will be wrecked in next to no time they won't want you to have worn your fingers to the bone (as my late Nana was known to say).
The surprise break organised by Mr kitty will have made your day. Where is your favourite hotel? Care to share?

N&G I must have missed the message re the second viewing be cancelled. Was that the couple you favoured? I feel for you. We've been through the stress on three occasions. It's all very unsettling.

soop Tue 14-Feb-17 16:27:28

corner You do not sound well enough to cook a meal. Perhaps Mr corner will step in and do the job. Hang on in there. I'll share a glass or two of special vintage wine with you...now where did we hide it...

soop Tue 14-Feb-17 16:37:29

I am doing battle with the watercolours. That's a very bad sign. It suggests that I have over-painted and consequently have lost the freshness of the colours. Only one thing for it...ditch attempt number four and start all over again. Sigh.

Ever since daybreak, the sun has shone from a near cloudless sky. Now the light is beginning to dim and sketching the new portrait will need to be done asap.

It's lovely that the new kitchen is beginning to feel lived-in. I shall enjoy returning tomorrow after ironing duties.

Special thoughts to all of you who have problems to deal with. I hope that Izabella is beginning to mend.

Goodbye for today. (hugs) for everyone. smile moon

Lona Tue 14-Feb-17 16:49:41

soop sorry I made you late last night but the doctor was running late and I didn't get home until 6pm. I had to have a cuppa and recover a little before contacting the family and friends who were waiting with baited breath! wink

I would have been rather cross if I had driven that distance only to find that maybe it wasn't necessary! Poor MacS, but he is such a star!
Ann that little puppy is totally adorable, and so is Sam, I would fight soop for a cuddle with them.
Kitty I certainly am chuffed (to little mintballs as my mother would say!) You have a lovely dh to surprise you with a special break, I assume it's your Valentine treat.
Corner hope you feel better soon and Maw, let's hope your lump gets sorted too.
Jud it sounds as though you and Georgie could do with a little wheely trolley, your poor knees!

kittylester Tue 14-Feb-17 17:52:11

Coincidence Lona for dh booking the break - we have been promising ourselves this little break since dh stopped working and have only just got round to it. We are going to Suffolk.

Although I got a nice card this morning, DH had said to dd yesterday that he couldn't remember whether we usually bought each other presents as well, so he didn't!! And who says romance is dead? grin

wot Tue 14-Feb-17 18:52:37

I bought a card and gave it to partner to sign last night to give to me as I knew he wouldn't have got me one! it's still in its wrapper. i reminded him today but no joy so i ought to take the hint. ?

Judthepud2 Tue 14-Feb-17 18:58:53

Popping in quickly to update re visit to the vet. He thinks that what Georgie is experiencing is pins and needles down her spine as the nerve endings begin to knit, hopefully a positive sign. He said that wheels are now not used unless there is no hope of rehabilitation as it stops the dog from making the effort to walk. He also warned that continence tends to be the last thing to happen ?

On the way home, I took Georgie into the pet shop with me to get a few things. She was the centre of attention (despite a very wet and pongy nappy) and one of assistants said she thought there was an unclaimed dog buggy in the stock room if I would be interested. Just what I had been mentioning to Mr Pud this morning. The buggy is bright pink but apart from that ideal to help us get G and ourselves out and about. Big price reduction so I jumped at the chance. Getting more and more like having a small baby! The poor dog is now exhausted from her outing and fast asleep. How she has changed from the lively dog she was once.

Kitty what a lovely gift from DH! Have a lovely time. envy

Here's a little something for the new kitchen ?

callgirl1 Tue 14-Feb-17 23:50:41

I`m a bit late today, love the new extension, and pleased the view is unchanged. Isn`t it wonderful how there`s always enough land for another extension? May it always be so.
Kitty, enjoy your break.
Soop, that`s a buggeration to top most buggerations! If Campbeltown does turn out to still have an office in operation, MacSporran ought to at least get a petrol refund, as well as profuse apologies.
What gorgeous doggie pics, I want/need a cuddle!

Greyduster Wed 15-Feb-17 08:31:55

Am I the first one in the kitchen this morning? Shall I put the coffee on?
Well, when we were at DDs yesterday after picking GS up from school, his other granny turned up with a late birthday present for him and some flowers for DD. I invited her in and offered her tea, because it was the polite thing to do, but it was a bit of a shock to be honest because I don't think she's been to the house for years and they don't see a lot of her. I haven't seen her for years. She has never taken much interest in him, even when they visited her, and it has upset DD and SiL over the years so now they don't bother. GS came and said hello, thanked her very politely for the present but they stood there like a couple of strangers. No kiss, no hug. Even my niece, who is his honorary gran, gets a hug! It made me very sad. I woke up in the night thinking about it. There wasn't much more warmth when DD came in from work either. I think it was a shock for her too! There was some polite chit chat and then she left. I wonder if she's trying to build bridges. It would be nice.

MawBroon Wed 15-Feb-17 08:42:56

Well it certainly sounds like a step in the right direction greyduster smile
(Can't imagine no hug from a DGD sad) Nice of you to encourage it (as if YOU would do otherwise)
Did I say last week that I had a very "grown up" phone call from DGS1 (6) who chatted for several minutes before telling me about his sponsored silence/animal identification for Beavers? I liked the fact that he was diplomatic enough not to launch straight into the appeal!! Bless him, granny would have coughed up whatever. Well he has done it now and Gpa and I owe him £3.10 each. Sounded thrilled when I said we would each round it up to a fiver, isn't it lovely when they are still innocent and have not yet reached the word "mercenary" in the dictionary of life?

NanaandGrampy Wed 15-Feb-17 09:18:05

Good morning all,

The calm before the storm here. We are picking up DGD after lunch for a sleepover. Now she is 10 she has very firm views on what constitutes a good sleepover. Firstly , we are going out for dinner as she would like a steak !!

Its her favourite along with salmon and as we like to expose her to a better dining experience than McDonalds we're happy to oblige.

Then it is home to ours where she has selected a new romcom to watch along with her popcorn ( I don't know where she puts it all!!) Its lovely now to be able to watch proper movies and not just kiddie films with her. The movie tonight is Overboard with Goldie Hawn ( its my youngest daughters favourite and has to be 25 years old !)

Then bed . In the morning there MUST be croissants for breakfast and a fully laid table .They do eat at the table at home but she likes a tablecloth , little pots of jam etc and a choice of fruit juice. You MAY think we indulge her....and we do smile willingly.

I will def try your suggestion for a groomer Jud . I had to put an old toddler sweater on him for his walk this morning - he was NOT impressed !

oooh lovely treat Kitty ! I'm envious. Although Grampy excelled himself yesterday. We had treated ourselves to a Dine in 2 for £20 from good old M and S for dinner yesterday and he cooked it . But I also got a card, chocolates and red roses. I am wondering if he read the Grampy must go thread ?? smile It was very unusual for him but he was in a particularly soppy mood yesterday --- long may it last!

Ah Greyduster we have one of those Nannies too for the little boys. My SiL does his best to encourage her to see them but in 5 years she has only had Jackson for one hour and never had Cooper at all. She rarely comes to birthdays and such and has no clue who those two little boys are . So sad. And sad for SiL too. He desperately wants her to be the sort of grandparents we are and she shows no inclination at all.

What a lovely little chap your DGS sounds Maw. Lets keep them little as long as we can eh?

Right , I have to go and make sure madams bedroom is all correct and the pirate bedding has changed to the girlie stuff and the books are not the baby ones. Oh the things we do eh?

Take care all x

MawBroon Wed 15-Feb-17 09:34:41

I saw this this morning -best Valentine ever?? grin

Bellanonna Wed 15-Feb-17 11:08:35

Lovely new kitchen. I lost my way for a while. I don't often visit but I do read all your comments, and always admire your beautiful photos soop.
I'm glad georgie seems to be making progress, albeit slowly. The pins and needles a good sign, but you must both be worn out.
I want Ann's grand-puppy!
Lona I'm so sorry. I missed the bit, presumably a while back, that you were having investigations, and only caught up with all the good wishes. May I add mine fir a happy outcome?
Wot: ?. Really.
MawB that card is hilarious. Hope appointment is reassuring.
Can't go through all the other posts right now but all the best to all the kitcheners. Have to get my lovely GD ready to go bsck home, about an hour's drive, but more like 2 the way I shall probabky drive.. I'll feel sad when I see her empty bed. We had a lovely time together.
