It's hit and sticky in North Leicestershire but heavy rain is forecast for 9 am. That will be very welcome!

I need to buy some new white t shirts today. I wonder how the ones I wore happily last summer look so jaded at the start of this summer.

A bit of ironing to do before it gets too hot and then load up the last of the plants to be planted out around the town. I do enjoy it and we get lots of people stop to say how much it's appreciated, but I do wish a few more would offer to help!

Good morning Michael and all GNs. Glad BT are getting on top of your problem, Mick - it seems to have taken them long enough! It is warm already in South Yorkshire, but we may get some rain today. Yesterday we were trawling round bathroom showrooms. Today it is tiles. What started out as a project to do a simple replacement of our bathroom suite for something white and more modern is taking on epic and costly proportions. How do these things get out of hand without you noticing? Have a good day, folks.

A heavy thunderstorm in the night woke me up but it seems to be brightening up now, here on the south coast. I planted some free geranium cuttings that I got at a coffee gathering yesterday, so the rain will have helped them bed into their new pot. Enjoy the weekend everyone!

Good morning all, woke up at six to find light rain, hurrah! Cool things down and good for the garden.Blue skies and sun now though, having a barbecue for all the family today at lunchtime, hope it won't be too hot.

It didn't last very long but quite loud and now we have beautiful sunshine.

Yes same here - we could hear it in the distance though. Did you see the smoke from Lewes a couple of nights ago? It was really weird - enormous - what looked like strange black clouds just hanging and making strange shapes. We didn't know what it was but decided it must be smoke, but it was peculiar.

Thunder and lightning started as soon as I'd put the washing out.

It was on the local news Whitewave something to do with a fire in a recycling plant as far as I remember .

The smoke stretched for 22 miles all along the coast. We could see it from our part of the Downs.

We had a thunderstorm in the night and I did hear a couple of very loud claps of thunder - even though DH said I was snoring gently throughout!!
It's cloudy here today and looks like rain - a typical BH weekend.

Morning everyone. Beautiful morning here in Cheshire. Also it is my 75th. Birthday.....I can't believe that I am 75 years old. Hubby said I am three quarters of a century now. Just guaranteed to make a girl feel great. Anyway, i FEEL about half that age. (Don't look it though!). Hope you all have a great day.

Weather here in Malta is HOT. I've just been shoving rearranging my garden furniture for the umpteenth time. I only have a smallish yard since I downsized, but I think it looks quite nice now. Too hot to sit out though, so I've retreated indoors.
