Happy New Year, Mick and all who follow.

Happy New Year Mick and Baggs and all GNs.

A busy day in store with DD and family coming for a late lunch - mostly courtesy of M&S as I am still recovering from the nasty cold we have both had. Not the best night's sleep either so I shall be zonked later. Hey ho - tomorrow can be a lazy day.

May 2018 be a peaceful one with health and happiness in abundance for us all. sunshine

Happy New Year, Mick, Baggs and all.

It is just dark and coldish as far as I can tell this morning.

I went to bed at 10.30 last night and slept until 6!! DH was woken by the midnight fireworks but I slept through.

DS2 and family are coming for lunch and to watch the match on TV.

Enjoy 2018 everyone.

Morning gaga!

ninathenana Mon 01-Jan-18 07:36:48

Happy New Year everyone.

The wind has dropped and it's dry in Kent.
We popped a cork at midnight and watched the amazingly extravagant angry fireworks on the Thames (via TV).
Roast lamb for lunch which is a family new years day tradition, complete with fiz and pulling crackers.

HNY everyone - I've no idea what the weather is like outside here as the curtains are still drawn but it sounds quiet! Last day before work tomorrow so we will try to make the most of it although it will take us a long time to get all the recycling bags sorted and put out for collection tomorrow!! 3 weeks worth of rubbish with family here has nearly filled the garage!

oldgoat Mon 01-Jan-18 07:48:25

Morning g everyone and Happy New Year. It seems very dark this morning here in York but there is a bird singing outside. Hurrah! Spring is on its way.
Family coming for belated 'Christmas' lunch. I have a checklist so that nothing, hopefully, will be left in the oven and the hostess trolley will make its annual appearance from the cupboard under the stairs.

Happy New year from a rather grey and windy Brussels, the celebrations went ahead here last night as planned, Oostend and Bruges were cancelled due to high winds.
DGS stayed last night so up a bit earlier than I would have liked this morning.
Hope 2018 brings peace and good health to you.

Happy New Year to all!

It’s raining through a very gloomy sky, with windy squalls.

Taking a day off from packing up the house, and will be indulging in a long hot bath to ease tired and achy bones.

cornergran Mon 01-Jan-18 08:14:28

Morning All. Gloomy start to 2018 in our corner of Somerset. Heavy cloud which seems to be leaking. Little sleep for me but Mr C continues to snooze, best to leave him be. Happy New Year to everyone, enjoy your day.

NanKate Mon 01-Jan-18 08:41:09

Morning Mick Kitty and all lovely Gransetters. HNY to you.

All quiet after being with the family at theirs and ours since 23rd Dec ? So tired last night that I fell asleep at 9.15 and woke up at 7.45 (with two pit stops) 10 and a half hours to recover from complete exhaustion, but it was worth it.

Taking it slowly today with DH. Please send us some oxygen.

whitewave Mon 01-Jan-18 08:42:06

Happy New Year all!

Just tottered out of bed after what turned into a very jovial evening rather than as expected a quiet chatty time. Finally got to bed at 2 or so.

Quiet day today.

Left overs for supper

Nelliemoser Mon 01-Jan-18 08:50:04

Happy New Year to all.
It looks quite bright outside.
I got up at about 7am and finished my book, I am now having a brew. I will get dressed soon.

I went to bed just before midnight and did not seem to notice the usual fireworks for two hours after midnight.
If they happened they did not wake me.

Here's hoping my internet cable will stay up today.

Happy, healthy and peaceful New Year to you and yours from Essex. The sun is shining and there is frosty nip in the air, but it looks like it will be a nice day.

Pittcity Mon 01-Jan-18 09:09:12

Good morning and a Happy New Year from gloomy Colchester. Grey and quiet here, the wind has dropped and it's not raining.
Starting with coffee and croissants and then a walk to blow the cobwebs away.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs and Happy New Year from South Yorkshire where the sun is out! We stayed up for the fireworks and then slept like logs! I am just awake. DD et al came for dinner yesterday so we have a day to ourselves today. Enjoy whatever you are doing.

Marydoll Mon 01-Jan-18 09:34:49

Good morning everyone, Happy New Year to all.
Quiet day today, (I hope!).
Went across to a friend's to toast the New Year and came back at 3.30, despite saying we wouldn't stay long.
Hopefully catching up my reading my Christmas present books.

Nana3 Mon 01-Jan-18 09:49:36

Good morning. Grey skies in my part of Lancashire, it's not raining but I'm sure it will be soon.
The family are here, I'm not sure of their plans, will go with the flow, always the safest thing to do.
I wish everyone all the best for the New Year.

Jalima1108 Mon 01-Jan-18 10:40:29

Good morning everyone and a Happy New Year to all. It's very dark and has just started raining in the West.
We had a quiet evening but stayed up to watch the fireworks and have one glass of bubbly to welcome in the New Year.
We're going out later for lunch-time drinks but, looking at the weather, I feel like hibernating.

All the very best for 2018

Jalima1108 Mon 01-Jan-18 10:41:29

Happy New Year everyone! We had a lovely meal with friends last night, with lots of laughter, fizz and good food - salmon mousse, beef bourgignon, lemon tart. We are planning a quiet day today and are looking forward to the M & S meal deal DH chose yesterday - salmon mousse, beef bourgignon, and (luckily) fresh fruit platter. You can't have enough of a good thing! grin

Good morning everyone and a Happy New Year to you all from West Dorset. It's overcast here but mild. I've been very lucky and had a lovely Christmas in the Yorkshire Dales but ready now to tidy up the decorations and get back to normal! It's lovely to see new shoots coming through in the garden and snowdrops starting to make an appearance. Fresh beginnings.

baubles Mon 01-Jan-18 11:35:52

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year.
