Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dark but dry start here in Brackley this morning, nice to get back into a normal routine.
Mick

Good Morning Mick. It's breezy but damp here on the south coast. I think we need to batten down the hatches ready for the next storm though.

We are eating up left overs today and taking down the decs. after our last "Hurrah" of the festive season. I agree it feels nice to get back into a normal routine Mick!

Hope the day is a good one for all GNs. sunshine

Morning Mick, morning all!

It's dark, coldish and dampish in North Leicestershire. I agree it's nice to get back to some sort of normality, Mick.

A trip to town today to do some. Christmas swapping and buy a couple of birthday presents. Then 2 dgc are coming for the night and two more will be added tomorrow. shock

Enjoy your Tuesdays everyone.

Morning gaga!

Good morning Mick and everyone. Still dark but looks fine in Lancashire.
OH back at work so quiet day all to myself.
Hope you all have a good day.

ninathenana Tue 02-Jan-18 07:44:04

Morning all.

Dry in Kent and very still. I think we're having "the calm before the storm"
Food shopping this morning which is usual Tuesday routine and taking the decs down this afternoon.
Have a good day everyone

Good morning from Colchester. Dry and still with a dark grey sky. Various appointments today for DH and DS. I will start with the Decs and do a bit of shopping. Hope to be home and dry before the storm hits.

NanKate Tue 02-Jan-18 08:22:40

Morning Mick Kitty and All.

Clear and dry in the Thames Valley.

First WI of the year when we have a Bring and Buy Sale.

Poor DH still with the dreaded lurgy, but I have recovered from a milder version and a week with the boisterous grandchildren.

I like getting back to the normal routine too.

We're finally going to meet our new DGS, 3 hours away. Couldn't go earlier cos I had the flu-what terrible timing! Won't set off til this heavy rain has passed through though.

Marydoll Tue 02-Jan-18 08:35:59

Good morning all,
Damp, but reasonably mild here in Glasgow.
I couldn't sleep, so got up to make bread, which we will have for lunch with the unopened smoked salmon I discovered in my fridge clear out yesterday.
We may start on the decorations as we have DGD tomorrow and need to keep her away from temptation.
Enjoy your day all.
Lovely news Newquay

Good. Morning, Michael and all GNs. Gloomy and cold in South Yorkshire this morning. Another attempt to take back my library books this morning, having failed on Saturday. Also some food shopping to do. Back in the old routine! Have a good day, folks.

Nelliemoser Tue 02-Jan-18 08:56:19

Good morning all . It looks very wet outside. I have much to do including taking the decorations down.

Dark and damp looking in Surrey. Back in my own flat as of last night after staying with DD2 over Christmas after an operation on the 21st Dec. Op was on my eye so things a bit difficult as sight poor at the moment and check up due on Thursday. Strange being back in my own place but DD1 nearby, DD2 went back to work today. Don't feel confident to venture walking far on my own and won't be able to drive again for ages. Hope you all have a good start to the New Year and keep well.

Anniebach Tue 02-Jan-18 09:09:44

Good morning.
Dull but dry at the moment in N Bucks.
Off for a walk in a while.
Beds to remake and determined to sort out ‘stuff’ that has accumulated in the spare bedrooms.
Cottage. Pie to make for tonight’s dinner.

whitewave Tue 02-Jan-18 09:43:03

Good morning, grey and 3 degrees here.
Long lie in after tiring day yesterday, all family here for lunch and dinner.
Was nice as GD brought her violin and DD played the piano to accompany her.

annsixty Tue 02-Jan-18 09:53:01

Good morning all and it is pouring with rain in Stockport.
As I speak the decs are coming down here, very few went up but H has had enough of them and is stuffing them in a washing up bowl...dont ask.
It is not so much getting back to normal as carrying on with normal here as nothing changed over Christmas. As least I now know it is an ordinary day for most other folk.
Have a good one folks.

Nelliemoser Tue 02-Jan-18 09:58:38

It is even wetter outside now than when I posted an hour ago.
I have to get out today or we will be eating bread and Christmas cake for the next few days.

jura2 Tue 02-Jan-18 10:01:47

Bonjour, much clearer today, but no sun. East wind gale last night, but all quiet now. See what this afternoon brings.

Mapleleaf Tue 02-Jan-18 10:04:55

Good morning,
Belated Happy New Year greetings to you all - couldn't get on line yesterday until late evening for some reason.
As Greyduster has said, it's gloomy and grey here and not too warm, either. I hope the sun puts in an appearance before too long, I so dislike these gloomy days.
Need to pop out to the shops later for a few basics, otherwise not a lot planned for the day.
Enjoy your day. ?

Morning everyone, I'm pushing the door open tentatively as I've not been around here for a while ... how is everyone? At the risk of sounding clichéd - how was your Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you!
I'm rescuing my house having a bit of a tidy round now GS and his mum and dad have gone home; decorations packed away; cards etc in recycling and washing machine whirling away merrily. I'm still not showered and dressed though lazy woman because I knew I'd get dusty, hot and bothered clearing up. Is that socially acceptable in the GN café? I do have a very nice new dressing gown in a tasteful velour, plus pink slippers.
I'm also feeling way too full of cake, mince pies, biscuits and the like ... the detox starts now, or maybe tomorrow ... or maybe not at all. Perhaps if I just think healthy thoughts ...?
Just heard the letterbox clatter, so best check what delights have arrived and think about sorting myself out so I can actually enter the GN café without shame!
See you all later.
