Good Morning Everyone,
Its grey but its daylight here in Brackley this morning with Snow on the ground windy and cold as well its drifted in places, but will do my trip around the supermarket less than 5 minutes away.
I did go out yesterday in the end and managed to do my usual trip to Bicester and Buckingham, getting some essential shopping for my decorating.

Don’t think we’ll be going anywhere today. Deep snow, windy and below freezing.

MawBroon Sun 18-Mar-18 06:51:18

Good morning everybody. We have had more snow in the night and I would really like to see the back of it. I had booked lunch for the family (coming from London, Kent and Suffolk) but am wondering now. Fortunately the Birmingham contingent came yesterday but I really don’t want anybody having the journey from hell on my account.
Still, a lot may change (for the worse, even!) in the next 6 hours.
Have a good day, keep warm, keep safe.

Morning all.
We've got a proper covering of snow here in York but the forecast says that we shouldn't be getting any more.
Hope that your family make it to the birthday meal without any travel problems maw
Think we won't be venturing far today apart from walking the dog (who will hide when he spots his nice knitted coat ).
Take care on those slippery pavements everybody.

Gagagran Sun 18-Mar-18 07:05:39

Good Morning all from a freezing, white world here on the south coast.

Hope it thaws *Maw" so you can go ahead with your lunch get together. I would share your concerns about the family travelling.

I am heartily sick of winter now and can't wait for it to pack its bags and go away. (I sound like Gavin Williamson!).

I am about to light the log burner and intend to stay indoors and keep cosy today.

Keep warm and safe everyone. sunshine

Good morning all from North Leicestershire!

We had lots of snow overnight and it's very cold.

We are also going out for lunch - at least theoretically - only to the restaurant in the village - but we will have to see whether they are open and whether we feel like a tramp through the snow.

Oopsadaisy12 Sun 18-Mar-18 07:07:18

It’s still a bit too early to see what the weather will be like here today, but we have to be out of our villa at 11am, hopefully it will be sunny as our flights aren’t until this evening. Then I just hope that we can land and drive home ok and that there is no snow.
Looking forward to getting home.
Have a good Sunday everybody and keep warm.

ginny Sun 18-Mar-18 07:21:02

Good morning. Snow on the ground but not to bad at the moment. Hoping it doesn’t spoil birthday celebrations for DD1. Luckily we all live close by.

NfkDumpling Sun 18-Mar-18 07:23:08

Morning All

Snow here too. About an inch. And a strong bitingly cold Arctic wind. Don't tell, but I've blocked the old air brick in the sitting room with kitchen roll as there's a frrreezing breeze blowing through it!

I don't know what DH has in mind for today, but I'm not going anywhere!

whitewave Sun 18-Mar-18 07:41:32

Good morning

Bitterly cold on the South Downs with no More than 1c forecast all day, so with snow on the ground I will not be going out. Sea looks a slate grey.

Just slithered out to feed the birds, lots of little foot prints out there -obviously looking for food. Daffs look utterly cheesed off.

NanKate Sun 18-Mar-18 07:45:30

Morning Mick and All.

A covering of about 2 inches of snow in South Bucks. I bet if you told someone in Canada about our snowfall they would laugh at how we (well me really) get in a hoo ha about the weather.

Hope you get your decorating materials sorted Mick.

I asked DH to get out some meat from the freezer yesterday for our Sunday lunch, he got out kebabs ? BBQ anyone ?

cornergran Sun 18-Mar-18 08:03:18

Morning All. It’s a white morning in our corner of Somerset. Looks like an inch or so, still snowing, the fine, grainy stuff. There’s a line of birds glaring at our door because they can’t get to their food, will have to wait until I get dressed grin. I would share your concerns for your family maw but hope for the best for you all. Stay warm and safe everyone.

ninathenana Sun 18-Mar-18 08:28:22

Morning all.
We have a very light dusting of snow in Kent. It looks more like thick frost.
I don't think H will bother with the allotment today.
Hope everyone's plans for the day aren't scuppered by the weather.

Pittcity Sun 18-Mar-18 08:36:48

Good morning from a below freezing Colchester. Snowed all day yesterday but has stopped and frozen. All our weekend plans have been cancelled. Watching films and eating what's in the freezer!

Greyduster Sun 18-Mar-18 08:42:11

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Good that you managed to get out yesterday Mick. It has been snowing all night in South Yorkshire and we have deep tyre track in the road, but nothing much seems to be moving so I suppose we won’t be either. DD et al were coming to lunch but I don’t think that will be a good idea now ☹️. I am trying to draw a veil over my son’s chances of making it out of the remote Yorkshire Dales pub they are staying in for the weekend!! Bloody weather! Stay safe, folks.

silverlining48 Sun 18-Mar-18 08:42:35

Morning mick morning all. Its cold here and the sniw we gad yesterday remains, apparently minus 6 and the car lock froze. Off in a mo to watch dgd in ger first gym competition so hope the roAds are ok.
Keep warm everyone

Anniebach Sun 18-Mar-18 08:43:44

Good morning all , snow in Mid Wales

silverlining48 Sun 18-Mar-18 08:43:53

Apologies for typos. This ipad has a mind of its own.

Marydoll Sun 18-Mar-18 08:48:40

Morning all, a fine dusting of snow here. It looks like icing sugar.
A quiet day for us.
Maw I hope your lunch isn't spoiled, but it's better to know everyone is safe.

gma Sun 18-Mar-18 08:49:09

Dry and very cold here in Norfolk. Biting east wind which does not help! A sprinkling of snow! Not seen any dog walkers yet! A day for staying inside!

Baggs Sun 18-Mar-18 08:59:12

It was snowing lightly when I woke up. We are heading to Mount Stuart on Bute with Minibaggs's and her Spanish exchange partner. I've packed flasks of soup and coffee and emergency rations. Mr Baggs has brought down two down sleeping bags to have in the boot. We are not expecting to be stranded because most of the snow is to the east of us but I was a girl guide and a scout leader. Be prepared ?

Happy days, dudes!

harrigran Sun 18-Mar-18 09:02:47

Good morning, -1 here and very windy again.
Flights due to land at Leeds/Bradford last night were diverted to Newcastle, noisy few hours as they all seemed to pass over our house.
Stay safe and warm.

Marydoll Sun 18-Mar-18 09:03:49

Baggs, I haven't been in Bute since I was a wee girl. I hope the sea is calm. ?.
Have a lovely day.

Sar53 Sun 18-Mar-18 09:36:37

Good morning everyone from a cold and white Essex by the sea. No more snow overnight but it was very windy. Will go out to fill OH's car with diesel as he has a very early start and a long drive tomorrow. SIL flying to America tomorrow morning and staying the night at Heathrow tonight hope he makes it ok .
Happy day to you all.

Mapleleaf Sun 18-Mar-18 10:40:25

Good morning, everyone.
As greyduster says, we've had a fair amount of snow through the night. It's find now, but there's a cold wind blowing the lying snow about a bit. Be glad to see the back of it! The birds are managing to reach the food we put out yesterday, but some is still hidden so will have to go out to uncover it for them.
Keep warm. ?
