Good morning Mick and all to come.
Sorry you had an uncomfortable night, but “Summer” was good while it lasted wasn’t it?<sigh>
Looking sunny and bright here in N Bucks again , that has to be about 6 days in a row!
Back to normal I suppose, but wishing everybody a pleasant day.

kittylester Tue 08-May-18 06:32:36

Morning Mick, morning all.

It's another lovely start in North Leicestershire but maybe a touch cooler.

We did loads of gardening over the weekend but it's back to normal routine now which means a long volunteering session in a stuffy room.

Enjoy your day out Mick.

kittylester Tue 08-May-18 06:33:57

Morning Maw.

Gagagran Tue 08-May-18 06:44:04

Good Morning everyone!

It's another lovely start here on the south coast but forecast is for a slightly cooler day.

I am out and about this morning at the garden centre and library and this afternoon DH is going to take the last load of "stuff" from the Great British Garage De-Clutter to the tip. I still get great pleasure from just going in the garage and looking at the space and tidiness after 6 years of the Steptoe's junkyard look. (Sad or what!!)

Hope the day is a good one for all GNs sunshine

Good morning all, I've had a lovely holiday, back to real life now, we've been home a while but I couldn't settle back into routine. The weekend weather has cheered me up, wish it would last.
Have a good day everyone.

ninathenana Tue 08-May-18 07:08:47

Morning all.
Sunny day here in Kent our forecast says this will be the warmest day ? It was a lovely warm weekend but certainly not hot.
Food shopping this morning and pottering around later.
Have a good day.

ffinnochio Tue 08-May-18 07:11:24

Good Morning to you all!
Bright, light beginnings. Off to London to see the family, so there will be bright, light endings to the day as well.

gillybob Tue 08-May-18 07:19:26

Good morning everyone. Another beautiful sunny morning here on the NE coast. Sadly all good things must come to an end and it’s back to work today. My 3 older grandchildren are staying tonight instead of their usual Monday night as they were away yesterday at at horse show. Have a great Tuesday everyone. A short working week. Yeah !

harrigran Tue 08-May-18 07:47:12

Good morning, ditto what gilly says. I started the night without the duvet and was surprised how well I slept, still no duvet when I woke has to be a first at this time of year.
Plumber coming this morning, hot water and showers not right since he serviced boiler last month, sick of washing in cold water.

Marydoll Tue 08-May-18 07:56:20

Good morning all, cloudy again today in Glasgow , with a little bit of sun.
It was warm yesterday, but nothing like the scorching weather down south.
We spent a few hours at the beach with DGD. She had a ball, sea, sand, ice cream ? and a few of daddie's chips.
DH and I became quite nostalgic, as it was the seaside town where, as children we both had budget holidays with our parents. It usually rained.☔
We spent the time reminiscing and regaling our son with tales of our holidays , such gathering driftwood to keep the holiday home warm. There was no money for ice cream and bags of chips were shared.? It was sad to see how " tired" the town had become.
Supermarket, then garden centre for us. We lost quite a few items, during the bad snow.
Enjoy your day everyone.

ginny Tue 08-May-18 07:58:37

Good morning everyone.
Yes, still bright and sunny here N Bucks. Catching up on jobs at home today. DD3 and family will be collecting their 2 dogs who have been with us whilstthey have been away. So probably tea in the garden.

Mapleleaf Tue 08-May-18 08:01:05

Good morning everyone,
Another lovely sunny morning. Set to be warm again today but then cooling down from tomorrow.
Got a few jobs to do in the garden today.
Hope you all have a good Tuesday. ?

gillybob Tue 08-May-18 08:17:57

We lost quite a few plants during the bad weather too MaryDoll including it seems a precious rhododendron that we have had for many years. I think it was the cold and the salty winds.

Anniebach Tue 08-May-18 08:22:44

Good morning all from sun still shining in Mid Wales x

MawBroon Tue 08-May-18 08:25:04

Marydoll was it Ardrossan? Or “doon the watter ” e.g. Dunoon or even Rothesay?

(Paw at Ardrossan a few years ago)

Greyduster Tue 08-May-18 08:31:13

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Weather as Maple has given - I hate to say it but I shan’t be sorry to see it cooling down a bit. Our barbecue yesterday was a bit hit and miss - I think we need more practice! We are shopping today for summer shirts for Himself. What fun! Have a good day, folks.

Marydoll Tue 08-May-18 08:38:12

Hi Maw, it was Saltcoats, then my son drove through Ardrossan on the way home.
The last time we were there a few years ago, I was saddened to see how many shops and homes were neglected.
However, yesterday, I did notice some regeneration, thank goodness.
The beach was empty yesterday. Large is the place to go nowadays, but it is always overcrowded on Bank Holidays and parking is almost impossible.

Newquay Tue 08-May-18 08:38:45

Lovely photo Maw-happy memories?
Lovely sunny day again here in Staffs.
Going to clear out a shed this morning so optimistic we'll be as satisfied as you Gaga soon!
Have said on other post about spiders I know there is a massive one living in there. They give me the heebie geebies so DH is instructed to catch it and release it down garden-well away from me!
It is elder DGS's 10th birthday today so have just phoned him and sung Happy Birthday to him. He's had a watch and told me the time which he did easily. He's a bit dyslexic so not easy for him. Will see him after school.

Good morning mick and all GN`s.

Indeed back to grey early morning skies and already the visitors are travelling back home.........summer did not last too long for sure!!
As far as we were concerned it was very pleasant whilst it lasted.

Talking of winter losses in the garden, although it did not show up earlier we too are finding several of our palms are suffering with many off shoots dying. So you are not alone MaryDoll and gillybob.......bur delighted to add our cerise pink rhodedandron is just coming into bloom,a lilac one follows on when this one has died off.So at least they have been saved.

Having "availed" ourselves of many new indoor plants, both green and flowering .......renewing those lost during our packing up in preparation to move and my long stint in hospital..........and I must say it is like giving the place a new lease of life, and one I am sure I shall enjoy.

Yesterday meant just a lovely country walk in an area just outside our town and less than a few minutes from home.It is known as The Racecourse for indeed as a child I do actually recall visiting there when a racecourse!
Now it makes a great amenity area with stacks of seating all around and in the wooded areas I had the treat of my favourite bluebells!

A very laid back day ahead,I think I may have to visit the surgery as the `op on my leg does not look too good, and I dare not take any chances knowing my luck where health is concerned!!

Once again I wish you all a pleasant and productive day.

Marydoll Tue 08-May-18 08:41:11

Maw, meant to say, I see Paw needed his coat. Must have been inclement weather, as usual in that neck of the woods.?

Panache Tue 08-May-18 08:42:11

A lovely photo of your loved one MawBroon, thank you for sharing.
I am getting to know a little about you all and may I just add..........Thank you for having me and making me so welcome.

LynneB59 Tue 08-May-18 08:47:27

It was very warm here in Nottingham and is again this morning. I'm off to Austria later, for a few days. The weather is expected to be hot there too.

Enjoy the sun - it may not last long.

Pittcity Tue 08-May-18 09:06:19

Good morning from sunny Colchester.
Our rhododendron was the best it's ever been a week ago, the flowers are now dropping ?
Another warm day beginning here, but the temperature is dropping enough at night for comfortable sleep. Must be because we are quite near the coast.
This and that day, including a watering session as rain not due here for a couple of days.

Luckygirl Tue 08-May-18 09:09:20

Mornin' all!

Slightly misty and more breezy, but blue sky threatening to peep through soon.

Wire netting has worked and my begonia seedlings have not been subjected to the bunny treatment.

Lots of singing today - afternoon and evening.

DD sent photos of a bluebell wood they went to yesterday - what a lovely day they had! I am itching to get out and see some bluebells now but this week is crammed with stuff I have to do.

Good day to all!
