Just realised this is actually quite an old thread. Nevertheless, welcome to any new ones who have recently joined.

Hi, I am fairly new to G.net but it is not really for me, yet to find someone on my wavelength, all seems a bit town/suburban, a bit Buckinghamshire. I am looking for a women only, rural matters, no O.H’s as they all sound a total pain and why don’t the aggrieved women just leave for heavens sake. It’s all complaining, nastiness, absolutely no sisterhood, far too much fashion and make up, not enough calm, peace or stillness for me.

You must have been reading different threads from me. Seriously. Hope you will stay because there is a lot of good stuff on here, too. What is Buckinghamshire? Never heard of that comment in my life. Never been there, either and don’t really even know exactly where it is.

Hi!

What a lovely forum this seems to be! I joined last week and immediately found the advice I was looking for so didn't need to post.

I'm 56, with one granddaughter and a sort of step-granddaughter. Love them both to the ends of the earth. I live in Somerset with my lovely husband, two adult sons, and our cats and chooks. Love to knit, I sew gnomes for a living, I love cooking and listening to music. Sounds a bit twee, but suits me ?

Blossoming you took the words out of my mouth!

A couple of threads I’d recommend are in the Chat forum, the daily Good Morning thread and Soop’s Kitchen. Have a read and if you think they’re your kind of place just drop in and say hello. You’ll be made welcome.

Thank you so much Blossoming.

I appreciate being acknowledged and being welcomed smile

Means a lot, now I don't feel quite so alone on the 'playground'!

Hello Lark123 glad you like the site. Feel free to join in when you’re ready, we were all newbies once smile

Hi, I'm a newbie on here, think it's my 3rd week starting after 'lurking' ( or reading) for a week or so prior.

I found the site after Googling a question and was happy with the advice given to someone else with the same problem, so joined, but feeling a bit like a kid at a new school, if you know what I mean.

Anyway good evening to you all and I'll continue to read the posts while I sit with my cuppa brew.

Allyoops, welcome.

Please be assured, Fanny is really a good girl, this all relates to the Glasgow meet up thread.

Allyoops Thu 17-Feb-22 19:32:09

Hello everyone - I joined GN quite a while ago and love all the chat, from all over the world it seems. I've not posted before but I have picked up quite a few tips from you all! I wish you a happy evening and hope the ones feeling poorly or going through a hard time feel better very soon.

Marydoll Thu 17-Feb-22 19:31:48

Not if it's as badly behaved, as my dear friend Fanny. wink.

I am awaiting a series of PMs in the morning! However, I do know she loves a bit of banter. I hope

Squiffy Thu 17-Feb-22 19:14:49

We’ve got a besom in our garage, but it hasn’t been cheeky so far … It’s allowed out in autumn to sweep up the leaves and then it’s incarcerated again! I feel bad now, should we let it out more often?

Marydoll Thu 17-Feb-22 17:20:10

Sqiffy, Fanny has a dislike of red pens, I believe she always used green, as did I.
However, she deserves the red one, because she is a cheeky wee BESOM!!!!

Squiffy Thu 17-Feb-22 16:57:57

Oh no, not The Red Pen MissMary! ?? Yoo got yor teechas hat on aggen?!

Marydoll Thu 17-Feb-22 16:23:17

besom!!!!! To be fair it is prounced bizzum where I stay.

If we are to teach you Parliamo Glesca Fanny, you need to pay attention. The red pen is out, no gentle green one for you! wink

FannyCornforth Thu 17-Feb-22 16:18:53

That’s funny, I was just thinking that myself….
Hang on a minute… ?
haven’t you just called me a besum?

Marydoll Wed 16-Feb-22 17:39:36

You seem familiar, have we met before?
