Has anyone on here had their eyelids lifted and / or bags removed. I absolutely hate how I look and have looked into the possibility of having my eye bags removed. Any comments, experiences, dos and don'ts would be appreciated. My DH is against it, he says the risks are too great, but of course he sees me every day and hasn't noticed the changes over the past few years, except looking at old photos. Every time I look in the mirror, I hate what I see. I use age appropriate make up, but my eyes look tired and droopy. Everyone says I look tired, I am! but the bags are not going to go away however much sleep I have. They are just loose skin under my eyes and I look 20 years older than my 60. Please advise me ladies.

I have no experience of this and no plans to! If your family are unmoved by your bags then embrace them as part of this stage of life!

I personally would not have that type of surgery done. If you do decide, please, please choose your plastic surgeon well. Look at his qualifications and think very carefully. Also have a good look at where he operates because that can also tell you a lot about your surgeon.

Yes go for it,i had mine done years ago, you will have a new lease of life,
I even felt more confident in buying different clothese and had more interest in what i wore
I had terrible bags from being very young, and it wasnt until i was in my 40s that i could afford to have the op
It isnt very risky, although you will have some bruising, for about 10 days, but the stitches come out after a week, then you can wear make up
The op doesnt take too long, but so worth it
Just be very careful and research your surgeon, look on the register of plastic surgeons, and see reviews if any
I think the one i had will have retired now, but he was also an NHS surgeon who worked on reconstruction surgeryy too

Yes i did both upper lids and underneath the eye at the same age as you and was very happy with the result. Private clinic but surgeon recommended by a friend. Recovery was quick and I could wear eyeshadow for the first time in years. Still looking ok 10 years later and I would say do it.

It’s the only cosmetic surgery I would consider.

Oh yes, go for it. I’ve got droopy eyelids which make me look old and tired but when I saw a plastic surgeon about an eye lift, he said he wouldn’t do it because there is a family history of glaucoma and the operation is contraindicated. I was very disappointed but instead had some Botox which did improve the whole area. I need it doing again but with COVID it’s obviously out of the question. Would have loved a permanent solution, so if you can then I would say yes.

Yes....go for it. I had upper and lower areas done in 2002. I did my homework, got three opinions, and heard three different plans, so I went with my gut feelings. So glad I did. This dr told me the results would last 10 years. Well, it is going on 20 and I am just starting to think about doing it again. I am outside of Chicago, and this dr has since retired, so I will begin my research all over again. The results are so worth it. More than feeling like this is a vain decision, think about how you will feel (in more ways than one) with the more youthful look. Good luck and keep the faith. That way, you will make the right decisions.
