Knocked out by virus

Am fortunate enough not to get that many colds or flu, maybe something every 18 months or so, doesn't usually last long but always knocks me sideways and I usually develop a chest or bad sinus infection afterwards.

Had a virus this weekend, spent most of Saturday in bed dosing myself with hot drinks and parcetemol, got up Sunday, still felt rather rough, ventured out yesterday and again today, however I feel worn out and exhausted , somewhat nauseous, just wondering if there are any pick me ups/supplements etc that I should be taking?

Sorry to hear you sounding so ill. I've always taken high dose vitamin C and on the recommendation of a nurse, made sure it included zinc. Lately, with a sluggish immune system, I also take elderberry cordial either as my own brew or as Sambucca. Echinacea has fans amongst some, I'm not sure about it. Some people swear by a nasal medication which I think is called First Defence. Lastly, despite being veggie most of my life, I do think the old remedy of chicken soup helps - I think there is some sound, scientific reason why this might be so.
Hope that helps.

Liquids and rest is the best medicine! Hope you feel better soon. I take Echinacea when I feel a bug coming on and usually crave orange juice perhaps for the extra vitamin c.

You must find ways to strengthen your immune system. Look for supplements that contain omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants.

Yousound as if you have made an excellent and rapid recovery fizzers ?
It is an idea not to do too much after a viral infection though to let your system get back to normal.
If you have shaken this off in under a week, I think your immune system sounds just fine - quite enviable in fact.
