Been there, eventually had tooth out. Similar on lower teeth, had extractions after long time on antibiotics. Sorry to be so negative.

I think you probably need to see someone about it, gilly, and I'm sure that's the very last thing you feel like doing.

The fact that it's hot suggests there is still infection, and the swelling spreading sounds like it needs sorting.

Probably needs sorting pdq too. What a shame though. As if you didn’t have enough on your plate and at this time too.

I had to have my front tooth removed, and it was not nearly as painful as yours has been.
Not the best time of year, and on top of all your other problems too. See your dentist ASAP.

That sounds very painful, Gillybob. I think it needs looking at again sooner rather than later. You don’t want infection spreading even further.

I would second the idea of getting urgent care, but I didn't want to be the one to say it.

My sister has recently been putting up with a painful problem.
She had an emergency op a couple of nights ago. A huge infection.

Do it now, Gilly - phone for emergency advice first if you like, but I am sure they will tell you to go to A&E. This sounds like an infection that flares repeatedly a few days after it is sealed up each time. It is NOT draining - it is building up pressure and must be investigated and fixed straightaway.

If you leave it, it could become blood poisoning, which can be fatal! The emergency departments will be overworked and understaffed in a few days, with the Christmas alcohol poisonings and stupid accidents and so on. Going now gets it seen and treated in relative peace and quiet.

Yes Gilly You know what to do. Though I do recommend A&E first thing in the morning before all the accidents (and drunks) arrive.

I have an, almost, front tooth hanging on a thread which I should have out but it's not causing pain yet so i am keeping it, wobbling until January. Then I will have to get a plate fitted. I've been putting it off as I don't fancy a gap or dentures.
