I have had IBS for many years and try to control it by what I eat and what doesn’t agree with me. Lately it has been a problem and I don’t know what I’m eating to upset my system. Any ideas of what is good to ease it?

I do suffer with IBS and have tablets to control it from the doctors. Cream is an absolute no no for me and any sweet stuff can exacerbate it.

Sometimes, however, it does get out of control and what helps me is Slippery Elm. I take three teaspoons in some milk and it calms everything down. I sometimes need to have to take it twice. I used to be able to buy it from the local market hall, now I buy it on line.

Hope this helps. I know how tiring and debilitating it can be. Good luck.

Have you checked out the Low Fodmaps way of eating? Some foods are high Fodmaps and can cause gut problems.

I developed it 2 years ago, I stopped smoking and started eating ice cream every day, both change the bacteria in the gut.

The only thing that works for me is Multibionta with biotic cultures. They are gastro resistant so the bio cultures reach the gut.

I take them because of the biotic cultures not the vitamins but must have needed the vitamins as I used to suffer with constant cold sores and have not had 1 since taking them.

Thanks for your advice and I do have slippery elm in the house. I bought it for my little granddaughters constipation problems. I will try it myself. I’ll also try Multibionta with biotic cultures. Anything gentle is worth a try. Thanks again
