For anyone on the shielded list who has tried to order from Sainsburys and been unable to access delivery slot. Sainsburys have now updated their website so you can enter your NHS number and details which go to gov.uk for them to confirm you are on the list and you should be allocated delivery slots.
This may be the case with other supermarkets too.
Just thought I would pass this on to anyone who has tried to phone them and been unable to get through.

Thanks smileless. I know there are many who’ve tried to contact them by phone without success. I was banging my head against the wall this morning. Then late this afternoon I saw they had updated their website and opened a new source of contact. I thought others might have given up.
I hope you and your are well and are well stocked with supplies ?

Is this registration just for those who have recieved a letter from.the NHS as part ofthe 1.5 million, ot those who are over70, suffering from pre esisting conditions, Disabled Ect?
I tried to book aslot last night but it was hopeless. I havent had a letter from.the NHS yet, but do have longterm heart, Lung, and Diabetic problems and can no longer manage to do a full weeks shop without using the delivery service.

It just says vulnerable julia. It might be worth filling in the questions to see if it helps you.

If you are over 70 you should by now have received an email from Sainsbury's notify you that there are slots available for delivery the following day or so. This can be anytime early morning or late evening. I received my first order yesterday and it was OK, we can't be fussy with brands now, and only few items unavailable.
