Need advice little history ,spent 42months in total on oral steroids starting on 60mg daily. Then going through the long reduction process. Now 23months clear .
I have always been a lover of dark chocolate, think I may have developed a allergy that's the only word I can think of. Started over last year or so I think today have to say was the worst I can remember. 4squares of chocolate within 30mins breathing laboured, sweat poring from every pore, feeling out of it as if been drinking, 2hours later apart from felling like I am hung over ok. Has this happened to anyone else drugs leaving you with lasting side effects

I have been on and off high doses of oral steriods and injected ones for most of my life, but never experienced any new allergies, after coming off them.

However, what they did do was mask underlying conditions, which went untreated.

Definitely a strange one. I wouldn't be eating any more chocolate!

It may be the case that your reaction had nothing to do with you having been on oral steroids. Anyone can develop an allergy to something at any point in their life and it may be nothing more than a coincidence in time.
I'm not saying for certain either that the symptoms you have experienced are the result of an allergy but it sounds like it is.
Whether an after effect of medication or new issue/allergy like Marydoll advises if I was you I wouldn't eat any dark chocolat again.
