Weeks ago I complained on here about testing. What a hapless man/leader and look what's happened-----he's ill !

My family in Sydney are all alright, doing as they're told.
I hope it isn't the calm before the storm as they approach Autumn/Winter. Most will be having their 'flu jabs.

We were told that it will take two weeks before the curve begins to flatten. Unless idiots decide that their Easter gatherings trump the well being of the rest of the UK.

There is concern now that when the weather improves (may be warm tomorrow) that people may once again head out in their cars to beauty spots.
If that happens the lockdown may be more severe and we will not be able to go out for exercise at all.
Hope people will think, then think again before getting in their cars for days out.

Youngsters in Aus are still all congregating for their daily surf at Bondi, thinking it " won't be them ".

I’m not in a position to know whether they have or they haven’t.
They , together with NZ have shut their borders. We were questioned last week at Perth Airport about our citizenship.
Aussies aren’t allowed out and only Aussies are allowed in.
When they arrive back they have to go into hotels for 2 weeks.
The cost is paid by the government.

We walked back through a HR that resembled the Marie Celeste. There were a few immigration officers that checked the passports of those who couldn’t work the automatic reader. We noticed 2 posters, they were in English. No one even asked us if we were going to self isolate or indicated that we should. No leaflets in any language.
Although we had flown to WA from SA 5 days before they closed state borders when we got to Perth and checked into a hotel we had to stay in the room for 6 days.
They do seem to think that it is is good idea to keep any more infected people out.

They are about 2 weeks behind us. I have 2 sisters in WA, one a nurse and they are gearing up for the weeks ahead

I appreciate the importance of testing but relatives in the medical world have pointed out that you may well get a negative test one day then go on to be infected the next day

It's not that simple

I've thought that all along.

It is making me really angry is that people coming back to the UK are not being given any checks or advice on arrival at the airport and just walk through. That undermines all the effort being made by long-suffering citizens in lockdown who are desperately trying not to spread the disease.

Australia are flying Brits home any time and whether it'll include those off a cruise ship I don't know, but 5 passengers had died on the ship so I hope they're tested and quarantined.

All depends on how the stats are first reported and second collated.

Each country collects stats differently, so how can you tell, in all honesty?

Ellen, they were glad to be rid of us but I don’t blame them.
They are taking care and responsibility for their own as we should do.
The Germans on one of the ships left the airport together earlier in the day. Hopefully they were met with more interest and concern than we were.

Namsnanny, the Ausralian PM kept saying exactly the same. Different countries are collating their statistics differently. No point comparing them.
Every country in the world is unhappy with the way their government is dealing with the situation.
