Am thinking of dusting off my vibration plate (spiders will not be happy at having to rehome themselves!)

Like I suspect quite a few of us I have put on about 11lb in three months.I have had a vibration plate for years and used it intermittently.I do work part time in a care home so that is quite physical as well as the stairs we have to climb at work. My problem is I have skinny legs skinny arms no backside but I have a broad back and the dreaded back fat and a belly that is what I’m going to try and “shake away” any experiences and tips gratefully received...... And I do know we can’t really change your basic body shape but my body is just very unreasonable I could really do with a couple of pounds on my backside and it could easily be taken from my back but it seems not ......?

Please do not use the machine if you have had joint replacements or plan to in the future because the cement over time can loosen.

No I have no replacements as of yet!!

I use mine religiously ,you can buy a chart of exercises to follow, aimed at the area you need to work onI do about 16 different exercises on mine plusI use it while doing some light weights for my upper body strength .You do need to stick with it to see results .I do at least an hour a day in 20 minutes sessions

Really Paddyanne?I have only been using mine for 10 minutes at a time once a day!!as I read somewhere that’s all you should do,. Can I ask what machine you have I have a crazy fit massage machine,it’s a full one it’s got static handles on the sides.....

I have a Medicarn series 300 ,its old but it still works fine.Mine came with instructions for weight loss or just strengthening exercises.and says in 10 minute sessions up to an hour .To be honest I haven't seen the instructions for years but I do have the chart pinned up beside the machine .Upper body exercises including the Plank and I do loads of squats and lunges for my legs/bum .

You should stop if you get leg cramps ,and start at a lower power

I stand on it and do some stretching on level 99 then I tend to turn it down when I’ve got my hands on it or I’m sitting on it then I turn it down to about 50 which I read you should do somewhere not to have it right up unless you were standing on it. And I have just googled some exercises and will start again tomorrow and maybe up it to to two 10 minute sessions a day...?

I got rid of mine a few years ago when I developed AFib as I had heard they shouldn't be used - no idea if it's true or not but the first attack came on after I'd used it one day.

Plug in vibrators are very noisy.....
Don't ask me how I know that ?

If you've put on 11 pounds in three months, then the answer must be diet and exercise. Although in my 70s I've lost nearly three stones with Jane Plan (diet delivery in a box) plus vigorous walking at home from yourdailywalk.com or try it out for free on YouTube by searching for walk at home. I like to watch exercise videos on my smart TV by Chrome casting them from my tablet, or by using AirPlay.

I was just thinking and worrying about the vibrator thing(different vibrator to mine) thinking any minute my hip must be about to crumble??

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 08-Jun-20 11:28:23

Shinamae, you sound like you have a similar type body to my own. I often think if I had the cash, I would have surgery to shift my bulges around - yes down my legs and into my feet!!
If you find anything that works, let me know!!
