how long is recovery after having your ovaries removed?

I had both ovaries removed due to a benign cyst three weeks ago.

The doctors told me that it would be all right to resume sexual relations after a fortnight.

However, I don't seem to want to, and am so dry and tight that it is well-nigh impossible anyhow.

Any thoughts on when things will be back to normal?

This has nothing to do with the menopause, as I had my last period when I was fifty and I am sixty-eight now. Normally DH and I enjoy sex and he is being really understanding right now, so there isn't a hidden reason either.

Found this but may be out of date. Might be best to phone your consultant’s secretary and she can enquire for you.

You need a lubricant to begin with OP. It is probably a little scary so not being in the mood is understandable, especially if your cervix was also removed.
For what it's worth I've been in your position and everything still works well. grin

Thank you both. No, my cervix and uterus are still with me, so I shall try the lubricant method.

Maybe it is still early days, but do try. It is important for both of you.
Love making strengthens the pair bond, is good cardio vascular exercise, burns calories and delays the onset of dementia for both of you, as well as slowing the aging process.
You are still young. Lubricate both of you, and don't rush, take plenty of time over foreplay, to excite both of you.
Try new things/places for fun.
Hope that it all goes well.
