I was listening the world service last night when I couldn’t sleep and caught some of Claudia Hammond’ programme All in the mind I think it was.
She was discussing some research that had been presented at the Alzheimer’s International Conference, from the University of Texas. They found that flu vaccs may be associated with some protection against Alzheimer’s disease, and the more regularly you have them the greater the protection. Also the pneumonia vacc.
I found this interesting but it’s important to note that this research may not have been through a rigorous peer review process yet, and may simply mean that those who have regular flu vaccs are more aware of keeping fit and healthy.
I think provokes further study at least, and another incentive to have the vacc?
