Anyone suffered from this, had ct scan abdomen and pelvic done last night, and while it went ok, after couple of goes to get the contrast flow properly with me being told to raise my arm while the nurse kept pinching the tube, after few seconds I had to put my arm by my side and proceeded, when I got home I had headache and nausea, so was drinking lots of water as was told it takes 24 hrs to flush through your system, today no headache but have dizziness when stand and a feeling of full ears( if that makes sense) so still drinking water hoping for this all to subside, the arm where cannula was put in was slightly swollen first thing this morning, but not looking quite so swollen now, wondering if anyone else had a reaction

After a PET scan I felt dizzy, yes, but that was because I'd already spent the best part of an hour for the medium to go round the body, plus I was hungry after not eating from 6pm the previous night. Then another hour while the body was being scanned.

Because of the radium inside me I couldn't have contact with people for 8 hours so had to get a hackney cab home from the hospital rather than the bus. I couldn't go through that again if my life depended on it, though was very grateful to have been " chosen " at the time when the mobile and scan was in town courtesy of Allied Medical.

However, within 24hrs I was fine. I was also okay after a CT scan too ( with medium )
You should be fine in a day or two. Hope all is well flowers

I had a horrible taste for days after the CT contrast and my arm hurt for what seemed ages.
I have bad reactions, and I mean bad, to any procedures where IVs are involved.

Hi Trendy I’ve been thinking of you, glad it’s now done, I might have it done eventually when I get seen by the consultant. I guess what you are experiencing is normal should sort itself out soon x

I had one done this month. I just got a slightly funny taste in my mouth for a while. No other side effects.

I had no side effects at all, but wasn't allowed back to school because I was radioactive. An unexpected day off!

Hi Trendy how are you today? Has the dizziness passed? x

by the way, if you are drinking lots of water you need a 'salt lick' after a while. That's a few grains of salt in your palm and lick off. Otherwise you can get dizzy because of depleted minerals in the body!

I have had many with no side effects. Sorry.
