One of the best things about retirement was NOT having to be woken up with an alarm. As I have to get up several times each night for trip to loo, I usually take my thyroxine tabs during one of those visits around 5 ish each morning. Then back to sleep - I have found that the further it gets towards morning, the easier it is to fall to sleep!! Usually wake around 7.30ish, take ten minutes or so, waking up and considering my plans for the day, Then get up, having to sit on bed for a couple of mninute before actually standing up. Get out of bed side of window, and open the curtains and pull up the blind there and consider whether or not is wet outside, Trip to loo, then dressing gown and slippers on and over to Kitchen. I lay out the night before my bowl, mug, porridge sachet and small t-pot with tea in it. Turn on Hot water heater, and put t-pot on it, milk and blueberries from fridge and porridge in bowl into microwave. Brekkie then on tray on my walking trolley taken into sitting room, where I turn on tv (BBC1), and enjoy my breakfast whilst watching Breakfast. Finishing that, I get my laptop and check fb, emails and then on to G.net,. Usually manage to waste enough time until about 9.30 ish when I go for my shower, tidying bed, and getting dressed and ready for the day.
