Farmologie pink grapefruit moisturiser

A well known young actor ( can't remember her name) said this cleared her legs so I thought it was worth a try. It's the best thing I have used ever and I've tried many things over 60 years!. Of course nothing works for everyone but it's not expensive at all.
There is also a pleasant body wash. Its good to have something that smells nice too.

My mother and a good friend had terrible psoriasis nothing worked. I get it occasionally when stressed. Thanks for this advice I will definitely get some it’s worth a try.

JaneJudge Thu 18-Mar-21 10:29:48

Thank you, I will give it a try

Shandy57 Thu 18-Mar-21 10:31:37

I'll give it a try too, thanks, my psoriasis is very bad at the moment, and I wouldn't normally look at something like this. I'm going to buy a tanning mitt this year, I'm fed up with having cream in my nails!

Shinamae Thu 18-Mar-21 10:32:39

My son has it so will definitely get some of this for him, thanks for the tip

JaneJudge

I hold you responsible for my spending £30 with Boots.com blush

Oh dear. blush
Perhaps you should just have tried a small tube first JaneJudge.

I'm not sure how it will cope with really bad psoriasis but honestly everyone it has actually worked very well. And only around £4 to try it.

I find that different things work at different times - the Body Shop 'Hemp' body butter is also good. Horrible pong though!

My psoriasis is worse than it has ever been. Elbows, leg, bottom and recently behind my ears and around my hairline. Some steroid cream from the doctor helped but I’m not keen on using that except as an emergency measure. I’m waiting for a consultant dermatologist appointment but how long is a piece of string?! I will see if I can source that cream here in Ireland if not I shall ask my uk based daughter to get some and post it over ( customs fees not withstanding)

Mine was dreadful when I embarked on a diet devised by Dr. John Mansfield.
It hasn’t quite gone completely but since I did the diet about 6 years ago I haven’t had any bad flare ups.
I always use Capasal to wash my hair.

nadateturbe Thu 18-Mar-21 13:38:24

Poor you SueD I do sympathise I was like that in the past. I found T gel helpful for hair. I get Farmikogie online from Boots (I'm in NI.)
My diet is very plain now as my stomach doesn't tolerate spicy or fried and I am prediabetic. I wonder does that help.
I also have used Sainsburys pure soap for years - perfume and colour free. My skin is never irritated. Again very cheap.
And yes as Shandy says, things work for a while for some reason.

cornishpatsy Thu 18-Mar-21 13:48:29

Thanks for that, off to Boots now.

Yiayia4 Thu 18-Mar-21 16:24:49

Thank you I had a bad flare recently and will be trying this.

nadateturbe Thu 18-Mar-21 16:50:38

Please just order a small tube first time.

nadateturbe Thu 18-Mar-21 16:55:51

This is what made me try it. I hope it helps even one of you.

nadateturbe Mon 22-Mar-21 21:54:27

JaneJudge I'm glad you were pleased with your purchase, although it's early days. Thanks for letting me know.
I hope it helps your husband.
I must say my legs are the clearest they've been for years.

Son has flare ups that are very bad.
It effects his fingers and he needs to file the skin, at times it cracks and bleeds.
He has steroid cream on prescription, I feel so sorry because he uses a computer for working so not good.
My daughter as eczema and I have Hives and a low white cell count which I believe these are all immune system conditions.
I'll buy this cream just to try but he as tried so many different creams over the years and nothing improves the condition.

nadateturbe Tue 23-Mar-21 22:00:00

Your son sounds very bad Jeanie. It must be hard for him. I'm not sure the cream will cope with that. My daughter has psoriatic arthritis and the consultant did tests and said its connected to her auto immune system. I believe lots of these conditions are linked to the auto immune system and are hereditary.

Shandy57 Thu 25-Mar-21 13:23:01

Mine started when I was twenty, and my parents divorced. Patches all down my spine during the new 'halterneck trend' weren't good! Unfortunately I also had it on my hairline, and a friend at work asked what was wrong sad It appears wherever it wants, and at 63 I'm fed up with the greasy grind of constant moisturising, and the constant hoovering. It does worry me that the skin is our largest immune system and mine is compromised by this - if I cut myself, I always get a patch of psoriasis.

nadateturbe Thu 25-Mar-21 16:46:04

My dad was like that Shandy57. My mum used to complain about all the vacuuming and I felt so sorry for him.
Psoriasis is very difficult to treat in some cases. It can be so embarrassing and make one self conscious too. I wonder would diet changes help. I know since I cut sugar and alcohol mine is a bit better, and using sainsburys pure soap helps.. Also I take vitamin D3 which is said to boost the immune system. I never found moisturising much help tbh.
There are forums that might offer some advice.

Shandy57 Thu 25-Mar-21 19:25:52

That's the frustrating thing nadateturbe, different things work for different people. Over the years I've tried lots of diet changes for six weeks or more to see if it had any effect, no alcohol, no dairy etc - and I can't use soap at all, makes my skin really stingy sore. I've done the sun bed treatments without any benefit, and have Dovenex and Betnovate steroid creams for when it flares. The only time it all went was when I was pregnant with my first child aged 36 - second child at 39 I looked like I had smallpox sad I just live with it but have got lazy over lockdown, need to get back into the three times a day moisturising.
