Have you ever sleepwalked?

Since hub's cancer diagnosis, I have developed a worrying tendency of sleepwalking - and falling over.
Last night, I somehow banged the back of my head. I don't remember it at all, but hub helped me back to bed apparently. Last time, he was so concerned, he rang 999.
This worries me on 2 levels; I might do myself some worse injury and I don't want hub worrying over me.

I'm pretty sure it's stress related, but not sure how to tackle it - if, indeed, I can.
I also can't eat so maybe that's a factor.

Any clues, dear grans?

I have sleep walked all of my life,as do my g/sons and my brother did too.
He managed to get out of the house and was found wondering down the main road by the police, thankfully they knew my parents so knew where to return him.
I have had embarrasing moments but don`t want to share.
I also talk in my sleep and again my son and grandsons do to.

I sleepwalk a couple of time a week. I also sit up in bed, hold long rambling conversations, scream, cry, laugh, snore like an bronchial bull elephant. You name it; if it's noisy and/or disturbing then I do it. I don't think there is anything you can do about it. I agree that it's probably stress related and hopefully will settle down in time.

I used to sleepwalk regularly as a child - I only went outside once, but my parents had to lead me back to bed on several occasions. I haven’t done it since I was about 9 years old, thank goodness, and don’t know why I did it then.

It must be very scary for you, OP. Have you spoken to your doctor about it?

Only once, when I was under a lot of stress. I woke up in the morning and opened the fridge to find all the bottles of milk had been emptied into jugs and various random containers. I have no memory at all of doing this.

I did sleep walk as a child when sleeping in a strange place, so probably stress related.
I've always talked in my sleep and it is stress related.

Gosh. How frightening for you all. I don't have any idea why you might be experiencing this but wanted to express my sympathy. Your families must have a worrying time too. Hope these symptoms of stress settle soon.

My sister says I spend all night screaming!

Yes, I have always walked in my sleep and I shout and scream. Earlier in our marriage I used to climb on the furnitue in the bedroom, creaky joints seem to have stopped that.

Both as a child and as an adult. Once I woke up, stark naked, on the common near where I lived, having crossed a major road. It was a bit of a problem getting back home, especially as I had no idea if I would be able to get into my flat (I could). That really was a worrying experience and the only thing that could have been worse would have been to have stayed asleep and wake up in the morning with muddy feet.

I also talked in my sleep. I may still do but I sleep alone so unless I wake myself up in conversation, I wouldn't know. I am rather fond of the time I apparently sat upright in bed and announced in a head misstressy sort of voice, "I will not have cats being unpunctual for their meals!"
