Low carb / sugar / fat snacks

After a difficult month, where I've not been able to continue the diet I've been on for a while, I'm ready to get back on it, for the sake of my health.

Can anyone make suggestions for snacks that fall into the low carb, low sugar, low fat category? I tend to pick in the evenings and need something to keep me on the straight and narrow.

Not really a snack but if I fancy something sweet I have an Options hot chocolate, only 40 calories. Rice cakes are popular for snacking but I have yet to find a flavour that I like.

Mini tubs of hummus with carrot and cucumber sticks. Definitely hot chocolate options.

marmite flavoured rice biscuits.

Carrot sticks or celery

Celery. Your moth sends a message to your brain that you’re eating, but calories are minimal.

Blueberries with kefir, frozen or fresh. Healthy and delicious.

Why not cut back though in the day time if you have the willpower then and have something you fancy in the evenings?
Tailor your eating to your lifestyle.

I usually have a slice of ham or chicken

I enjoy celery with a squeeze of Primula along it but that won’t help Gagajo … or me!!

Batchelor's Slim-a-Soups in sachets are around 50 calories each and, being liquid, help to make you feel fuller.

I am on an 800 calorie regime at the moment and save that amount for an evening snack. Occasionally if I am desperate for something sweet for the same calories, I have a large orange, a Pink and White marshmallow wafer, or even half a fun sized packet of Maltesers.

Good luck!

I go for Babybel Light. Daren't have real cheese in the house but these with a little chutney work for me. If I’m hard boiling eggs I do a couple extra and make curried egg mayonnaise to dip into. Options hot chocolate if I’m desperate for something sweet. Good luck Gagajo.

Egg mayo with low cal mayo is a good idea. With celery and carrots to dip in. Hummus too.

I like crunchy stuff.

Sugar free jelly. I make it in individual pots with a few frozen raspberries. Under 40 calories and feels like a substantial sweet fix if needed.

Not low fat, but a favourite of mine (when I have the things and can be bothered) is Stilton and cream cheese (could be the low fat variety) mashed together and squished into a celery stalk, which is then cut into bite sized pieces.

Another is half a pack of halloumi, sliced and fried (the merest film of spray oil) plus a cut up apple, and/or slices of pepper.

I find that roasted unsalted peanuts just switch off my munchies. They're healthy and, although apparently high in calories, don't lead to weight gain as they pass through the system in largish high fibre chunks after chewing. (I've checked the research on them)

If only….. lol

Another I’ve just remembered - a tin of tuna, mashed with just a little mayonnaise, plus lemon juice. Either on its own or on Ryvita. If on Ryvita, one tin does two lunches for me.
