Aren't they better staying put ( isolation ) during this period to make doubly sure they aren't infected then they can be flown back here when it's safe to do so ?

The virus has to be contained, not spread around, especially if any of them have been in close contact with the infection.

We’ve been advised to wash our hands - thoroughly after coming home. First thing. And to do it properly with soap and hot water whilst singing two verses of ‘Happy Birthday’ to oneself. That’s a reminder as apparently according to this particular doctor, one verse isn’t long enough.

I was also surprised by how (long?) it has taken for there to be a serious thread about the virus on Gransnet

There are at least three Coronavirus threads Giuilia- two under “Health” and one under “News and Politics” going back to January.
I don’t know why you don’t consider them serious however.
