I'm very sad as my cleaning lady of over 20 years has had to give up. We've been through a lot together. I've called her my therapist and she's asked for advice . I need ideas for a gift from me for all those years. Her husband is a keen gardener but she doesn't even like flowers in the house and doesn't like the veg he grows( he wins prizes) . They go out with friends once a week but don't have drink in the house. They do like a cruise. Please help I'm stuck. My previous lady who was also with me over 20years left to bring up grandchildren and I made her a play quilt but as yet this lady has no grandchildren.

Hmm, difficult! How about experience day vouchers - tea or dinner on a river cruise (OK, so not the same as an ocean cruise), a boat trip to see the seals etc., or just undesignated vouchers so that she can choose an experience for herself.

We had a Thames cruise with lunch as a treat once. That was lovely.

I think the cashmere stole or a voucher for afternoon tea or lunch at somewhere like Hotel Indigo is what I'm going for. I'm meeting the new lady this afternoon. Wish me luck!

I hope you will both be happy with all the arrangements.
