Argentine Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio has been elected the Roman Catholic Church's new Pope.

The first Latin American to be Pope, he will call himself Francis I.

This seems a highly emotive area, judging by the posts on the main Gransnet site. Just feel we should all respect differing opinions and beliefs. There are good and bad in every group , religion or whatever.

Religion for me is divisive and judgemental-if you think of all the conflicts in the world, they are all caused by religion and territory and it seems impossible for world leaders to accept and respect these differences
