Where are all the Derbyshire Grans?

Popped onto Gransnet in the hope of finding other Grans, go to meetings and share ideas. Only to find this area of the website is just about empty of information. Is there no clubs, meets, places to eat, festivals, craft fairs or anything happening in Derbyshire?

Hi Helengoff

Great to see you on the site and thanks for posting.

We don't have an editor looking after Derbyshire yet. If you know anyone who might be interested in the role please ask them to get in touch. There are more details here: http://www.gransnet.com/info/local-organisers

If you look at one of our sites with an editor at the helm you will notice the difference (e.g. http://local.gransnet.com/edinburgh). I'm sure Derbyshire will fill up soon so feel free to start it off by adding a listing of your own in the meantime.

Hi Tegan etc just checking to see if anything has changed - doesn't look like it, or in Notts or Leics!

Still, we had a nice exclusive meet up! grin

Like Helengoff back in April, I have joined here to try and find other grans who would like to meet up for coffees, chat etc. I am in Chesterfield. It does not look like anyone is editor of the Derbyshire site as I can't find much info at all on the local site? Anyone near me? smile

I am only about an hour from Buxton just over in Cheshire. There are a few others in North West Cheshire who are not far away.
The trouble with Buxton it is right across high hills on bendy roads which are impassible in bad weather. (I love the Peak District scenery. ) I do regularly venture across to South Yorkshire to visit DD and my DGS.

Hi, I'm in Wingerworth near Chesterfield. Would love to meet up for coffee and chat. Am fairly new to the area so local info would be good. Nothing seems to posted on Sheffield site either.

lulu321 Fri 23-Jan-15 14:22:37

How about Tues 3 Feb at cafe Nero in Buxton about 11o clock

That sounds great!
Could we make it 10.30 as I have to be at work in Whaley Bridge for 1.00, having had a quick bite to eat, so it will give me a bit more time for a natter.
Look forward to meeting you.
