I have only just noticed your post yet it has been there since 12th April! Does that mean you started it? If so, well done you are braver than me 
Well done for starting off the thread if nothing else - there must be more than two of us but I am in Torbay!
I would be very interested in the local site more than the main GN site really, although I am a regular contributor to the weekly weigh-in each week and dabble in a few others. However, I must admit I have noticed a lot of quite nasty comments on some of the threads recently that have really put me off 
. I am sure a lot of it is mischief making by a few members with a strange sense of humour but that sort of thing doesn't appeal to me I'm afraid!
I see from the little bit of looking around that I have done so far that there is a concerts etc section. I am organising a fundraising concert locally for Colombian street children - do you know if it is permissible to 'advertise' that on the local or even main GN site? I am not very tech-minded and have only dabbled in GN so don't know! To be honest we have had to pay out quite a lot to hold the concert so I wouldn't be able to pay any more advertising fees but it would be nice if it could be circulated to Gransnetters as it is a male voice choir and may well be of interest to members?
Whereabouts in God's country are you? I will message you via the main site to let you know I have put this on - not having heard anything from your 12th April efforts you have probably given up hope!
