Hello everyone , I have just found this new Forum , hopefully it
will be a good means of communication . Having been on The Hull
Forum and The HDM Forum I am not to impressed with them .
I hope this one will turn out to be far better .
Kind regards .

How about that - Winston Churchill is to be on our £5 note
in 2016 - one of the most notable men in our history going
on the back of our most used note . There is one point
however , it would be a nice gesture to put a female face
on the back of say the £ 10 note . I feel sure that the Queen
would not object to this .
regards .

Heh , and what about Humberside having it's first
female Chief Constable . That's a turn up , what
do we all think about that ? Hull University
educated , 25 years in the business , married with
a family !

Are the good citizens of Kingston Upon Hull a little bit hesitant
at adding comments on a Forum would anyone think ?

Hi harvatt, I'm not actually in Hull, but half an hour drive away, on the coast. I don't know if there are any other Gransnet members from the area. We've only been here 2 months, and are still finding our way round a bit.

Hello GrandmaSandra - can I call you Sandra - Guess you are in Hornsea ? I have been on the HDM off and on but am most definitely unimpressed , I have been on the Hull Forum as well but that one seems to have fallen apart so have dropped out . I am attempting to persuade two other ex Hull Forum members to think about 'Gransnet' I believe if we can pick up a few more members we can make it a worthwhile Forum . I personally believe if we can keep the daftness and rudeness away , that that could be the secret . For the record I live in Hull and am regrettably just the wrong side of 84 but hopefully can still write posts . Lovely to see you on this Forum and do hope we shall be able to keep in touch .
Kind regards Terry .

Hi,
I managed to find my way here from Anlaby.
I have 3 children, 11 grand children, 2 great grand children with a third one coming out by planned c. section on Tuesday. Looking forward to some good chats.
Liz.

Hi Terry. No, not Hornsea, we're in Withernsea. We moved here from the Midlands in March and really love it here, though our house needs a lot of work so we're very busy with that. It would be nice to see a few more local people on the forum.

GrandmaSandra Sun 25-May-14 18:19:43

Liz, hope all goes well with your new grandchild on Tuesday. I don't know Anlaby yet, but will look it up on the map.

Hi Liz , You have a good sized family there , but you know if that expression ' one coming out by planned c section ' is not what I would consider to be that of a nurse I do not know what is ? Anyway sign of a nurse or not , I do hope that all goes well . You will have plenty on your mind just at the moment . Keep us posted Liz when you get the time .
Thanks regards Terry

I Sandra got it wrong - next one along , not been to Withernsea for over three years , have a friend lives just near by at Holmpton in a bungalow on the main road through . I believe it has changed somewhat since then . Withernsea I mean . I do think by the way that Gransnet will start picking a few members up now that we have got started , It does need a decent Forum in this area , and I mean a decent one . I am hoping Floyd who is one of our friends from Hull Forum will be able to make his way across as well , it will be nice to have him . I met up with Jackie Dad - Lib Dem candidate for Holderness ward just prior to the local elections , I am hoping she may find her way on as well , only one problem she was voted in and she could have a lot on her plate now . Anyway we can keep looking .
Talk to you again soon Sandra regards Terry .

Hi Sandra and Terry,
Sorry my first message was a bit brief, it sounded more like a list of facts than an introduction when I came back and read it! Yes Terry, you are quite right, plus I was a midwife for a short time during my career, but it wasn't for me so I went back to general nursing.
Pleased to hear you like living in Withernsea Sandra. I lived very near there myself at one time, a little village called Welwick. That was about 25 years ago now. I should explain Sandra, that Terry and I kind of know each other from a previous forum that didn't work out too well. We both like sensible conversations with a pleasant exchange of ideas, and this place looks nice. I don't think it's the sort of forum where you will get the idiots trying to spoil it, so let's party!
Bye for now,
Liz
