where are all the dorset members of gransnet?....living in such a beautiful county surrounded by beautiful scenary.....there are quite a large number of retired people here, sometimes moving in later life people find it hard to make knew friends so what could be better than to send a few messages and make friends this way and then maybe later get to-gether for a meetup over coffee....

Hi, I unfortunately live in North Dorset so a bit far for a cup of tea and a chat. It is a lovely county though, I agree and I have been very happy here since moving.

I live here with my hubby and we are retired but keeping busy with voluntary work and caring for grandchildren.

It would be nice if more people would respond to your message. They must all be too busy enjoying the weather. sunshine

i too am looking for a bit of action! I live just outside Dorset and have tried Bath area and Wiltshire without success. It is a bit disappointing so far!

Hello Everyone, as the new Dorset editor I'm still finding my way about, so if you have any ideas, thoughts or want to arrange a meet up let me know...

Hi everyone.

Sorry to have neglected the forum for so long. I have just been incredibly busy and to be honest, I forgot to check and see if there were any comments.

I live in Gillingham , Dorset so sort of near Wincanton. It would be nice to meet up though I'm afraid I don't have much spare time.

Hello

I work in Dorchester and travel around Dorset for work, so maybe we can at least get a 3 way meet up going?

The GN Facebook page is at the end of this link - why not pop over and LIKE us there and we can arrange something via that?

I don't twitter, but would love to meet up with other Gransnetters in Lyme Regis. How do we make contact?

Fontana Sun 21-Sep-14 20:02:20

Hello Everyone - great to meet you all on here, my name is Carole and I am the Dorset Editor for Gransnet. I'm hoping that we can get a meet up or two arranged.

Let me know if you would like to all meet in a central place ( might be tricky but I am sure our combined brain power can give it a go) or if it is more practical maybe we can meet in two different areas.

I use Twitter and Facebook on behalf of GN Dorset here is the link to the Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Gransnet-Dorset/197195840426963page, where it may be easier to arrange the Meet Up(s).

I would love to get more people involve and using the site so if you know anyone who might enjoy being a GNetter - give them the details and encourage them to join in...Thanks

its a pity that there are so few Gransnet members in Dorset who are interested to meet up. is it because Dorset is sparsely populated, and wide spread that it is difficult to meet up, if you haven't got a car. the bus service is quite limited, there are trains of course but that would mean meet ups would have to be near a station...this is a difficult one isn't it.
