As the editor of both Gransnet Local Worthing local.gransnet.com/worthing and Gransnet Local Brighton & Hove local.gransnet.com/brighton-hove I have managed to arrange a couple of coffee mornings with a couple of Gransnetters, but I would love to find out how many of us there are down here in Sussex, and, more relevantly, how many of us are interested in a meet-up. We don't seem to have the same concentration of Gransnetters as there are in other parts of the country ... or do we??
I'd like to know where you are, what sort of meet-up you'd be interested in (morning coffee/lunch/afternoon tea/evening meal... something else?) and which town(s) in Sussex you would suggest for a meet-up.
Let's see if we can arrange a pre-Christmas event smile

* I will post this on both my local forums (and maybe even the editor-less ones!!) and take it upon myself to monitor and copy responses from one to the other, so that whichever one you are posting on, you will have all the other replies available too) ... She says optimistically grin

Hi, Im new to Gransnet. I would be interested in meeting other grandparents - probably for coffee or even afternoon tea to begin with. I hope youre successful in getting something started! I live in Worthing but do drive. I'd even be up for hosting something not too large myself!

Hello thelastnoonoo (great name wink )
I will be giving the meet-up idea another push after Christmas, so fingers crossed we start to get some interest.

Hi again thelastnoonoo There have been a couple of posts in the last day or two on the main GN forum, so I thought I'd just copy the link for you:

Would either Haywards Heath or Lewes be okay for you, as they seem to be the most suggested towns?

Hi everyone, and a Happy New Year to you all!
I'm back on track with trying to organise a Sussex meet-up.
There are several threads dotted around, so I am trying to get all input onto the one below which is on the main Gransnet forum:
www.gransnet.com/forums/meetups/1201319-Sussex-meet-up-Lets-make-it-happen?pg=1
Please do add your input to that one rather than this one. Thank you smile
Anna.

Hello again everyone! Well, as is so often the case in life, things sort of meander along at their own pace and then take form when they are meant to smile
It looks like we might have a Burgess Hill meet-up taking shape. Please pop across to this thread and let us know if you can make it (and tell us your preferred date)
