Grandparents of Grandchildren with special needs

If you are a grandparent of a child with special needs/disabilities, you are invited this month to come along to a meeting of SNUG (Special Needs United Grandparents)
Venue: 79, Eastgate Street, Stafford (the old registrar's office)
Date: Friday 19th June
Time: 10am - 12pm

There will be a talk by Laura Graham an Occupational Therapist on Sensory Integration Dysfunction and it might well provide useful tips and strategies to take away with you.
There will be Free tea and cake!

Following on from AnnB's thread regarding the Grandparents of children with special needs Facebook Group the group is called SNUG (Special Needs United Grandparents). This is a closed group so if you wish to join you will need to visit the page and submit a join request. We also have local meetings from time to time which are normally held in Stafford Town Centre. We have a sensory processing workshop coming up in June. If you are a Grandparent of a Grandchild who has special needs/disability and are on Facebook we would love to welcome you to our group. Alternatively if you are not a Facebooker but would like more information re local meetings then please email [email protected]

The group has now developed and has a great Facebook page. They can share experiences of facilities and solutions to problems. We're going to meet them at the Canalside Cafe in Great Hayward (see the main site under cafes) on Monday 22nd June at 3.30pm for tea/coffee and cake! All readers welcome especially if you have an interest through grandchildren but also to participate in our Meet Up. More information from group members welcome on this thread. It has now gone beyond Staffordshire as a Facebook Group!!

Nannyah - good luck with the meeting on Monday night I hope it is successful, I'm just going to check if you have put it on the South Staffordshire site and I'll put it on if you haven't.
