The Colchester Local page is suffering from a dearth of vocal Gransnetters in the local area.
We cover Colchester, the Clacton, Walton, Frinton coast, up to the Suffolk border, Tiptree, Halstead, Mersea Island....anywhere within easy reach of Colchester really.
Is there anyone out there who can add their recommendations, reviews or questions to our local page?

It is great to live in North Essex. Essex as others don't know it. Rural with attractive towns and villages. Halstead is the National winner, in the town category, in the Britain in Bloom competition, beating much larger places. The newly opened Griffin pub is a great venue with real ale and good company. Gainsborough's House just across the border in Sudbury Suffolk is well worth a visit. A museum displaying the work of Thomas Gainsborough in the house where he was born. Lovely garden with small coffee shop.
Just drive around the winding lanes and enjoy.

I`ve only been into Essex once, a few years ago, we went to an airshow at, I think, Lakenheath? Coming home we got lost, but enjoyed our meander down some beautiful lanes, looking at chocolate box cottages.

Thanks for replying Morriarty and Numberplease. Have you looked at the local pages? You can add your favorite places to the listings yourself for free. It would be a great help to the local editors. Halstead is covered by the Colchester page.
