Lunch in Lincoln?

Thanks for all previous comments ladies, especially jeanie99 and numberplease regarding accessibility.

Can I suggest we meet instead at Lincoln Drill Hall - no hill involved, easy to reach from the station, good parking at Broadgate car park (£1 per hour) and it has the best facilities for people with disabilities or limited mobility in the city - that's official!

The Drill Hall has a great value lunch menu and what could be nicer than getting to know each other over some good local food that's freshly made on the spot?

Looking at Thursday July 18, at 12.30 for this first get together. It would be so lovely to see a good turnout and the opportunity to make new friends.

Please let me know if you are planning to come!

Hopefully, I`ll be able to make it, but will say for definite in a few days, if that`s alright? Hubby is having some health problems right now, and we`re not sure how things will be going.

Sorry to hear that numberplease, I hope your husband's health is improving. Just let me know when you can. I'm hoping that there'll be a few others interested in coming along too.

Is there anybody else out there..?

There must be someone..............mustn`t there?

Can I encourage all you Lincoln ladies (and chaps!) to take the plunge and meet face to face next week? I'll be at Lincoln Drill Hall next Thursday at 12.30. If you haven't been there before, it's a really great, friendly place to meet and it always has something amazing going on.

I'll be there and I'd rather not look like a Billy no mates, so please drop by for a coffee or even a light lunch!

numberplease Tue 09-Jul-13 20:59:50

Madrigal, I hate to think of you as a Billy no mates, so just in case I can`t make it, please can some of you other yellow bellies, or adopted yellow bellies, turn up to meet with Madrigal on the 18th?
My reason for being doubtful is that my husband has been diagnosed with a (possible) cancer in his bowel, and we`re still waiting to find out exactly what is going on in there, plus, he was going to drive me into Lincoln, as my legs aren`t too good at the moment (I`m on the waiting list for a new knee), and I`m not too sure how I`d get on on the train on my own, and he has a doctor`s appointment at 11am that day, so therefore can no longer take me.
Sorry if that was a bit long and rambling, the long and short of it is, if I can make it, I`ll be there!!

Bless you numberplease there's a lot going on in your life right now. I hope your husband gets the all clear and that your knee isn't too troubling while you wait for the op.

Keep in touch and if there's anything I can do for you please message me. Where in Lincs do you live?

Me too! I stayed at the Old Bakery a few years ago and had fabulous meals, and wandered round the lovely old roads and buildings. What a great place to meet up smile

Well, hubby is still in hospital, so, sorry Madrigal, I won`t be coming on Thursday sad Hopefully at another time.

Madrigal Sun 14-Jul-13 17:41:04

No problem - there'll be another time. I will still be at Lincoln Drill Hall on Thursday for anyone who can get there (she says, hopefully)!

Hi madrigal, I know that it's a bit late, but I occasionally visit Lincoln and shop so if you have any dates available pm would be best for me, I usually park in st marks near home base. So if that's ok get in touch. Mrs pn.

Hi Madrigal, are any meetings planned for 2014? I live in the south of the county but could make it to Lincoln. Would love to meet up with more Gransnetters. Thanks.

numberplease Fri 03-Jan-14 16:41:14

Hi Madrigal, and any other yellowbellies! Hopefully, after July through to November being taken up with 3 hospital stays for hubby and one for me, I will be able to make it for a meet up in Lincoln this year. The Drill Hall still sounds good to me, so hopefully...............?
