Hi everyone!

Sorry to have taken a while, (have just cleaned the last little finger marks off the French windows!) but I now need to kick start this! Time seems to have run away with me, so I wondered how you are fixed for early October?

Think I have found a venue, but Grannylin and I will explore it further.

So - I have about ten names so far, but the more the definitely merrier, knowing you lot. Let me know.

Hello Ariadne ! I would love to come, but it will depend on whether or not I'm working.

Ariadne Mon 02-Sep-13 11:26:02

Oh, you are firmly on the list, Phoenix! But I would like you to have a job too..

Maniac Mon 02-Sep-13 13:42:56

If possible could you choose venue near to and with easy access from railway station.

Oldgreymare Mon 02-Sep-13 17:25:20

Yippee, something nice to do in dreary October! smile

Anne58 Mon 02-Sep-13 17:48:28

Ah but which railway station, Maniac? Exeter has 3!

Ariadne Mon 02-Sep-13 18:09:58

Well, Theseus will be around, but not with us. He will be more than willing to do some chauffeuring, but I will, of course, check transport.

Am so looking forward to it!

Maniac Mon 02-Sep-13 18:50:59

Main line from Bristol to SW I think it's Exeter St Davids

Anne58 Mon 02-Sep-13 19:55:34

Yes Maniac def. Exeter St Davids!

Oldgreymare Mon 02-Sep-13 22:54:03

Exeter St Davids for me too, I'll hop on a train at Westbury (not many come via Frome these days!)

Ariadne Sat 07-Sep-13 17:42:42

Thanks, * GrannyG*! Trust me to get numbers in the wrong place! And thanks, Atqui. Grannylin and I (and Theseus if I can persuade him) are meeting on Monday so will get back to you all. smile

Ariadne Mon 09-Sep-13 17:59:25

OK! Here we go, folks. The date is fitting in with a request, as is the venue!

Friday 18th October 12.00 midday - well, obviously

Mill on the Exe, Exeter. (There's a good web page with sample menus, from wraps and sandwiches to full meals)

It is half a mile from Exeter St. David's station, and there seem to be plenty of taxis. Good parking on site. They do have a wedding on as well, though..

There is good disabled access at street level.

Nice conservatory dining room overlooking the river.

We had lunch there today and liked it a lot.

Have made a provisional booking for 12, and need to let them know sharpish if numbers go up.

You do NOT have to live in the SW to join us! smile

Yessss!!! wine

Grannylin Mon 09-Sep-13 18:18:18

....and the chips are really goodgrin
