Dear Mrs A1964, try not to worry though I understand it is easier said than done! I had a little spotting, saw Dr and had a scan where some fluid was detected and thick cervix. Hence a little worried as it was then over Christmas when nothing could be done. Drs were lovely and supportive and said probably nothing to worry about. I had had sore boobs also which usually happened before when I had periods. I had a hysteroscopy after that Christmas where nothing was found other than some fibroids that hadn't finished shrinking after menopause, and it released the fluid. They reckoned it was a 'last hurrah' after my menopause which can happen quite a while after you have finished having periods. And also have thicker cervix than average but normal for me and not indicative of anything sinister. Not had any thing since. Good luck and hope everything goes well for you.
