Thought the weather was bad here!

Devon wind and rain is a pussy cat by comparison. So glad I live here and not there.

Oh dear! We were in New Orleans a couple of years ago, and saw the work that had been done, and was to be done. Poor people!

We did the obligatory paddle steamer trip, and from the Mississippi you could see the levees, with the town well below river level; it was clear how vulnerable it is .

I hope everyone stays safe but it rather looks as if some are taking unnecessary risks. I must say it does seem a bit daft to build on land that is below sea level in a hurricane prone area, even with levees and so forth. It's rather a different environment from The Netherlands.
