Watching the news and there have been 2 separate incidents in Paris (one explosion near a football ground and one shoot out at a restaurant.). 4 dead so far. So awful. What is happening?

Just dreadful sad

rosesarered Fri 13-Nov-15 21:49:32

Not heard about this, another terrible incident.

LyndaW Fri 13-Nov-15 21:52:53

Now they're saying 3 incidents. 11 dead. And an unconfirmed hostage situation. Horrific. Heart goes out to the poor people caught up in this.

B****y terrorists and extremist, what makes them think they have their god-given right to take innocent lives angry

Indinana Fri 13-Nov-15 22:19:55

It's at times like this that I so want to have a belief in some sort of afterlife, some sort of divine judgment. The thought of these evil people escaping justice in this life and being able eventually to die with no ultimate sanction is too much to take.
My heart bleeds for everyone involved, all the families, friends and anyone touched by the terror in France tonight.

Indinana Fri 13-Nov-15 22:21:19

Around 30 lives lost now sad angry

merlotgran Fri 13-Nov-15 22:23:24

Could this be linked to the killing of Jihadi John I wonder?

I think this is worse than we're being told at the moment.

nigglynellie Fri 13-Nov-15 22:27:11

OMG, what ever next? It's just awful, and where it's all going to end god only knows. Heartfelt sympathy for the victims.

soontobe Fri 13-Nov-15 22:29:04

I think it is worse too.

Personally I wouldnt have thought it was linked, as it seems co-ordinated and planned. But on the other hand, it is rather a big co-incidence.

Indinana Fri 13-Nov-15 22:29:18

I doubt it merlot - I think this would have needed longer to plan. Also, being Friday 13th, it's been said that this would be the sort of date the terrorists would choose, because of its significance.

boheminan Fri 13-Nov-15 22:40:08

The year started with the Charlie Hebdo attack, and ends in this blood bath. I fear for Paris, and the rest of the world...

merlotgran Fri 13-Nov-15 22:44:19

Indinana, I wasn't suggesting for a moment that this atrocity hadn't been carefully planned.

Bellanonna Fri 13-Nov-15 23:07:49

God I've only just heard this. Been out. 60 plus now dead. Shocked.

Galen Fri 13-Nov-15 23:18:38

Getting worse all the time!
Appalling!

WilmaKnickersfit Fri 13-Nov-15 23:21:37

The borders have been closed and a state of emergency has been declared. Reports are saying the bombings were suicide bombers. Heaven help the hostages.

WilmaKnickersfit Fri 13-Nov-15 23:27:02

Gun shots have been heard from inside the arts centre.

Indinana Fri 13-Nov-15 23:30:11

Oh sorry, merlot, I misunderstood you - I thought you were wondering if it was a reprisal.

Bellanonna Fri 13-Nov-15 23:31:07

News now saying 40

WilmaKnickersfit Fri 13-Nov-15 23:33:39

At least 60 just reported by the BBC. Shots and explosions heard from inside the arts centre. Police storming the building.

WilmaKnickersfit Fri 13-Nov-15 23:46:51

The army has been deployed on the streets of Paris and the public told to stay in doors. All businesses are being told to close and people who are out are being told to leave the area.

Indinana Fri 13-Nov-15 23:58:08

Well, the hostage incident at the Bataclan is now over, and the two killers have been killed.

WilmaKnickersfit Fri 13-Nov-15 23:58:30

The police operation is over and the two attackers are dead.

grannyactivist Sat 14-Nov-15 00:19:25

Now reporting that 100 people were killed inside the Bataclan Concert Hall. No words. sad

WilmaKnickersfit Sat 14-Nov-15 02:15:22

More than 150 dead - over 100 inside concert hall alone. Barbarians.
