Abdication?

Well, The Queen now is 90 years old. Do any of you think that she should abdicate? She looked today like she was falling asleep at the church service for her birthday.

Are there any 90 year olds on here still working?

Is it not time for her to put on her tartan slippers, wrap herself in her shawl, sit in her favourite arm chair and watch some daytime tele? Is it not time for her to let the younger (if Charles can be classed as younger if you know what I mean) to take over the lead of the country?

I think I would be quite upset at sending my mother/grandmother out to work at 90 years old.

Artwork of children displayed in care home. Every wall was covered in colourful tributes.

snoop, these creations are lovely and a lot of time and effort has clearly been put into them. I love the crown!! When I worked in a Care Home in another life, on occasion local school children used to visit and do handy craft with the residents, those who wanted to that is. It was a case of the the old and the young helping and interacting with each other. It was very worthwhile on both fronts, particularly as there was always a cuppa in it!!!

They're really lovely. Well done, those children.

nigglynellie the children do interact with the residents on special occasions. At Easter, they helped the residents to decorate a personal Easter bonnet.

They're lovely soop, I do like the paper cups.

DGD2 (age 4) seems to have a fascination with Princess Charlotte (and to a lesser degree Prince George). She's always asking questions about them, perhaps they mentioned them at play group. Otherwise I don't know why or how as I don't think DIL and DS are particularly royalty-minded!
She is always asking me if I have any pictures of Charlotte (how could I tell her that they had gone out in the recycling - oops!).

You'll have to pretend?!!!!!!! Gone for a good cause?!!!! She might ask where, and you'd have to say! Could get difficult!!!
It is good when you get interaction like that between the generations, both sides have a lot to give.

Jalima Fri 17-Jun-16 17:55:46

She didn't see them in the first place, so that's OK!!

Ana Fri 17-Jun-16 17:59:17

There'll be loads of photos online, Jalima! Print a couple off if you've got a printer.

Oh, thanks Ana

I was very keen when I was young and made a 'Queen' Scrapbook grin
We can do some craft and stick them in a book.

It will make a change from printing off and colouring in Disney princesses [bored]

Ana Fri 17-Jun-16 18:05:16

Oh yes, ours have been through that stage! Now they're into pop stars and American soap actresses - and they're only 9!!!

Doesn't half get through the ink, I have to limit them to so many each or it would be gone in no time (and it's not cheap!)

Jalima Fri 17-Jun-16 18:38:34

She did ask me if I liked Justin Bieber the other day

I said I had no idea who he is!!
Presumably older sister is starting to notice him shock

I try to print them in draft but the printer won't let me!
And I am not printing out colouring sheets of Justin Bieber!
