Maybe this should be under House and Home! grin

£100,000?? to rent it? shock

It's bigger than their flippin' house.

MiniMouse Tue 16-May-17 13:37:19

Be just right for our tomato plants grin

ninathenana Tue 16-May-17 13:44:03

Phew, if it's a hot day......

rosesarered Tue 16-May-17 14:10:00

It could look marvellous for a wedding, but yes, if it's a hot day the guests may be fainting all over the place!

merlotgran Tue 16-May-17 14:11:39

I wonder if Prince Phillip's seen it?

nigglynellie Tue 16-May-17 14:59:05

Vulgar, is a word that comes to mind!!

Christinefrance Tue 16-May-17 19:12:12

I agree nigglynellie, vulgar and tacky. Pippa is definitely not understated.

gillybob Tue 16-May-17 19:18:15

An obscene waste of money. But at least I suppose it's their money to waste. Unlike her sister and her in-laws. They prefer to waste other peoples on their lavish affairs.

phoenix Tue 16-May-17 19:51:49

Which member of the Royal Household staff was it that described Sarah as "vulgar, vulgar, vulgar" was it Sir Martin Charteris, or have I got confuddled?

Jalima1108 Tue 16-May-17 19:57:13

Is this just to rent or are they planning to go into the market gardening business?
A new career direction for James perhaps!

Deedaa Tue 16-May-17 20:02:36

I suppose if you're marrying a multi millionaire you can waste as much money as you like. I can't see the attraction of these luxury weddings. DD had alovely one and it must have cost about £200 including the dress.

hildajenniJ Tue 16-May-17 21:20:32

More money than sense, if you ask me. How will they keep it cool if the sun shines?

Norah Tue 16-May-17 21:27:12

They probably installed A/C.

Norah Tue 16-May-17 21:30:25

Most summer tent affairs have a/c. It runs off some big noisy things, set apart in the garden, I think.

Charleygirl Wed 17-May-17 09:17:45

I agree with gillybob it is an obscene waste of money but there again, she would never have looked at any man with an "ordinary" job. Will it last 5 years?

Teetime Wed 17-May-17 09:31:03

Well I hope its a great day for all concerned- it looks fabulous in an over the top wedding kind of way. Very clever these Middleton girls - I wish my daughters had taken a leaf out of their book and chosen their husbands more wisely.

Maggiemaybe Wed 17-May-17 09:34:38

I'm very shallow. I followed the link and ended up planning how to copy that outfit she's wearing to pick up her luxury spa products. The jacket would be easy to make for rather less than the £360 it's on sale for. And I'm sure I've seen some flats in Tesco nearly identical to those Jemima Vine ones (I read this initially as Jeremy Vine, btw, which would have been interesting).

Luckygirl Wed 17-May-17 09:44:46

What a waste of money! - for one day! And, if it goes as mine did, she will start her period (at the wrong time!) on the morning of the wedding, and spend her wedding night clutching a hot water bottle!

lovebeigecardigans1955 Wed 17-May-17 10:21:42

Blimey! I suppose they'll have to put net curtains up (or trendy blinds or some such) to stop the dreadful paparazzi from taking pictures for their oh so vulgar publications.

Funnygran Wed 17-May-17 10:26:10

Horrible! Looks like the miles of glass houses you pass when driving through Holland from the ferry. If it's sunny it will be a real hothouse in there and if it rains, no one will be able to hear themselves speak!

catherine138 Wed 17-May-17 10:32:07

I read a funny article about this from Spalding, someone said if they had rented one from us it would have cost £200 a day, with veggies thrown in,

hazel311259 Wed 17-May-17 10:36:12

Good luck to them each to their own live and let live

Maggiemaybe Wed 17-May-17 10:40:49

I tend to agree, hazel - and I actually think it'd be stunning decked out with chandeliers and crystal. I'd have been proper vulgar if I'd ever had money. smile

Magrithea Wed 17-May-17 10:43:43

My husband's nephew's wedding reception was inside a large marquee with see through sides (not glass though grin) and it was a bit warm!

However, it's no-one's business but their own what they spend on their wedding! And, btw gillybob, the marriage of the future king and queen is a public affair. The Royals spend their own money (of which they have plenty) on their own affairs. Many of the 'lavish' events we see are state occasions not family parties!

annifrance Wed 17-May-17 10:56:06

well good luck to her and let her get on with it. I am sure it will be a spectacular day, but I do think she lets her sister down a bit.
