Last night the first Leaders Debate was shown on ITV, featuring the leaders of the Liberal Democrats, Greens, Ukip, SNP and Plaid Cymru. Tory and Labour Leaders both refused to take part. What did you think of this debate and do you think many viewers would have been persuaded by what they heard?

I enjoyed the debates , a chance to hear from the smaller parties and two hours free from May and Corbyn . The UKIP leader insulted Wales,Scotland and NI , a true little englander ,silly man.

I was impressed by the goodnatured, overall tone of the debate (though it had its moments) but really annoyed that 'spokespersons' for Labour and Conservative, who had refused to take part, were given an uninterrupted chance to say their piece afterwards, with no chance for the Party Leaders to challenge their statements. Grossly unfair and undemocratic.

I agree granny23, those who refused to take part should not have been the choice to poke their oar in afterwards

Apparently this debate did not draw a very big audience. Do you think that means that most folk are not interested or that they only want to hear from the two who didn't turn up? If there was any justice the no-shows, Corbyn and May, ought to lose votes because they can't be bothered or are not able to debate. It betrays a contempt for the electorate.

The debate was o.k. not too much shouting. But it was perhaps of more interest to people who live in Scotland or Wales.

Spare a thought for people in Scotland and Wales who usually have to hear about the north or London

Did you see the Corbyn lookalike?
He was sent by The Last Leg. He got through the doors but was eventually ejected.

Anniebach Sat 20-May-17 09:51:05

Gosh, even people who look like Corbyn are evicted from ITV studios and it is claimed here the BBC are biased

Did you watch it, Annie. Very funny.

Not complaining about it being of more interest to those in Scotland or Wales Anniebach, just commenting.

I didn't think you were complaining llovecheese , surprised you thought Scotland and Wales would be interested in the greens, Libs, UKIP than England
