I am seriously getting worried, that that joke Corbyn might end up running he country, which will within months, put a new social policy in place to be paid for by the ones that work, and on their knees knees already, borrowing money, left right and centre, so that llike every labour government in history leave us in massive debts that will increase until, once again the country votes conservative to sort it all out. I probably won't be here it see that happen. I notuce the frugal life style Blair had, an example to all labour voters. He and his very rich family did very well out of it, pity the country didn't, particularly those youngsters sent to Iraq.

I'd just stop reading the Mail, the Sun and the Daily Express if I were you. They're feeding you a load of b*ll*cks.

Oldwoman70 Sun 28-May-17 07:49:50

Like you, I hope Corbyn doesn't win. He is weak, completely out of his depth, is not a leader and it would be a disaster for this country.

Oldwoman70 Sun 28-May-17 07:50:48

thank you Maizie for that well thought out and balanced argument

So what would a Labour Government give us.

Here's the start of a very long list - feel free to join in

It would ensure the continuance of the NHS
It would reverse the privatisation of the NHS
It would properly fund our grandchildrens schools
It would stop the stupid vanity project that is May's of trying to convince the parents that Grammers would improve all our children's life chances
It would ensure that police numbers are not cut and put back into place the bobbies on the best who are so essential to be our eyes and ears
The economy would be better run - it always is under Labour.
That's a start

NanaandGrampy Sun 28-May-17 08:02:42

Where will the money for all that come from Whitewave?

I was talking about this yesterday with Grampy and its all well and good to make these promises but when pressed about where the money will come from its a lot more 'hazy' . I liken it to Amir Khans promise if elected to not increase fare prices for Londoners --- is it 2 or 3 times its gone up so far?

He made those - false as it turns out- promises and EVERY time he was pressed on where the money would come from he fudged it or ignored it. Well turns out it couldn't come from anywhere so his main election promise was nothing more than a lie.

I'm feeling the same about your list.

Of course we will have to pay more in taxes if we want a good health services, schools, police force, social care etc...

....that is if we want all this. Are you saying you don't want this NanaandGrampy?

nigglynellie Sun 28-May-17 08:16:32

Yes, Utopia, happy days! BUT, how are all these excellent things to be paid for particularly virtually overnight?! If Dianne Abbott is to be believed then the figures are somewhat flawed! Wealthy people will, at the sniff of a Labour government, protect their assets, particularly at the prospects of Chancellor MacDonnell! As you say Luckylegs, five years of Utopia will leave a country embroiled in enormous debt, which ' someone' will have to sort out! T'was ever thus!!!

Anya Sun 28-May-17 08:20:26

So vote Tory, and settle down for another 5 years of the same then.

Happy days!

NanaandGrampy Sun 28-May-17 08:24:00

In a perfect world of course I would want some of those things.

All I'm saying is I don't believe them. Not for a moment.

whitewave Sun 28-May-17 08:25:31

No it will be vote Tory for EVEN more cuts, higher taxes and continued chaos.

Anya Sun 28-May-17 08:26:35

National Debt from 2005 - 2017

For those who think otherwise I suggest you look at this link - keeping in mind the fact that the Tories came to power in 2010. I think you'll be surprised.

In knowledge lies wisdom. Look at the figures, they speak for themselves.

Anya Sun 28-May-17 08:27:33

PS it's not a long complicated link. Just look at the two simple bar graphs.

whitewave Sun 28-May-17 08:29:06

niggly if you look back over time since a Labour Government first took office, the economy has always been managed better. It is an absolute myth that the Tories do better. I could give you numerous examples of the chaos that they manage to achieve each time they come to office.

Vote Labour and have a better managed economy.

Anniebach Sun 28-May-17 08:30:13

Is there one member of the shadow cabinet who has ever held a cabinet position?

Little point in comparing this shadow cabinet with any previous labour cabinet or labour shadow cabinet . Many of this shadow cabinet have only been an MP for two years. A plumber has to serve a longer apprenticeship.

As for - we will have to pay more tax, Corbyn and McDonald has said there will not be higher taxes with the exception of the very high earners. So this means not the many but the few.

durhamjen Sun 28-May-17 08:30:54

Sad that you think London's run by a boxer, N&G.
Maybe you should read more about politics.

Rigby46 Sun 28-May-17 08:31:29

What's the new social policy you refer to Lucky?

NanaandGrampy Sun 28-May-17 08:32:49

Oh forgive me Durham - I OBVIOUSLY meant Sadiq Khan !!

Maybe you should lighten up ?

durhamjen Sun 28-May-17 08:34:05

Over 300,000 people used the NUT school cuts app to find out how Mayhem's school cuts will affect their children's schools.
That's another 300,000 who won't be voting Tory.
Half a million one weekend.

Anya Sun 28-May-17 08:34:40

DJ there's no need for that. You could have pointed out N&G's mistake amusingly. Your last sentence was not needed and will not win any friends to your cause.

Likewise Annie - at least do no harm.

If you mean the issue around social care funding, you could try reading the Labour manifesto pp73-4 re the proposals - but why bother when you can get all the lies facts from the right wing press

Anya Sun 28-May-17 08:38:07

I'm betting that no one bothered to click on my link. I don't post many so those that I do choose are chosen with care. As I said it isn't some long-winded account of someone's opinion, but a simple and accurate little graph.

No one seems to want to deal in facts any more. It's all opinion, opinion and more opinions. And insults too.

sad No point in trying any more....

durhamjen Sun 28-May-17 08:38:25

Anya, nothing amusing if May wins the election. I don't think people like N&G will ever change their minds.

durhamjen Sun 28-May-17 08:39:02

Anya, you criticised me for correcting a fact!
