Well as they hand back the poisoned chalice and Network Rail announce they will be scrutinising new bids for it carefully I wonder if there couldn't be a better way to do this? And is this a case where political beliefs are triumphing over common sense? Or is it much more dark and is it the money being syphoned off from the taxpayer that keeps this fiasco going? In other words why on earth isn't it being taken into public ownership?
