Period poverty

I agree but its sadder that we ever had the problem. Women don't have a choice with periods. Should always have been free. I hope they arent economy uncomfortable ones.

I think when I was at secondary school you could get sanitary towels if you were ' caught short' but not as a general rule.
No girl/ woman should put be in an uncomfortable or embarrassing position re sanitary protection. Well done places that are sorting this out.
How sad that in one of the wealthiest countries we have young women unable to afford tampons or pads.

I hate to say it but the UK government could learn a lot from the Holyrood one.Shame the labour party refused to work with them and instead side with the tories .They work FOR the public not against them .

Have googled it. They will be provided same as toilet paper etc. Fantastic! I hope they do the same in N.Ireland ( if civil servants are allowed to decide!) Fifty years too late for me and others. Some very bad memories. But what a relief this will be for many females especially young girls. This is what I call progress.

schools and colleges throughout Scotland will supply free sanitary products ,Government buildings will be supplied too

A good start would be free supplies in schools .

I wonder how this will work.
I think all women should have some free provision. But its how its put into practice that is difficult.
