Just the same as the Japanese who the eu have just signed a trade deal with.

So the eu should stop trade with Japan

Why don't we ban all trade with countries we don't agree with? If they don't do things the way we do them, let's have nothing to do with them.

The economy is unraveling before our eyes. It's like watching a slow motion car crash.
Nonnie - I do think that we should not trade with people who act in ways that in this country we consider to be unethical or morally wrong. Otherwise we are just as bad. Surely someone needs to stand up for something they believe in??

What is a definite is that if we don't sell Saudi jets, arms, technology etc. 10s of 1000s of jobs will be lost

We don’t send bulls to Spain to be slaughtered in the bull ring do we? Must have missed something. Poor analogy. I don’t think selling weapons to a country which uses them to kill men, women and children is quite the same as disapproving of a cruel practice which is present in a particular country. I don’t approve of fois gras, whale hunting, battery hens etc either.

I have seen several posts over the last few months objecting to the fact that we "might" import chlorinated chicken from the USA.

I wonder if you know that all the bags of prepared salad, spinach, vegetables that come in from Spain is chlorinated.

you do realise chickens are different to salads, don't you? But I never buy bags of salads these days, and when I did, I washed them thoroughly.

I don't buy the stuff so I'm not worried.
But I'm pleased that it is chlorinated as the threat to our public health would be serious.
The sanitation conditions in those tunnels is 'not nice'?‍♀️

Petra I try to avoid Spanish produce, because of the "plastic village".

However in Spain I do but all the misshaped vegetables/salad from the local producers, might look odd but tastes fantastic.
