Crikey, if this local authority election was bad for Tories and Labour, it should be meltdown at the EU elections when the Brexit and Change parties field their candidates. The two party leaders are the most inept, incompetent, cloth eared leaders we have had for my life time. Say what you will about Blair, Major, Thatcher(aargh) but they were strong leaders. I would imagine that May and probably Corbyn are trying desperately to sort out some sort of Brexit leaving fudge in an effort to avert the blood bath they will suffer at the EU elections.

MaizieD thank you I think you are correct ?

MaizieD Sat 04-May-19 18:15:16

I believe it is 'cojones', GG13.

I think you're in the money, petra. I think she is going to prove very hard indeed to dislodge. I'm thinking more like October wink

GrannyGravy13 Sat 04-May-19 18:04:00

My money would be with you petra..............She is absolutely useless and has no authority over anyone/thing, but nobody else has the "kahunas" (sp?) to take on the job. They are all to scared of what it will do to their career to take on the job of Brexit and uniting the Conservative Party.

As for JC if he were to be elected as PM I think he would run away.

EllanVannin Sat 04-May-19 18:03:56

Don't know. Don't care. I won't be voting again !

petra Sat 04-May-19 17:51:57

OH bet me £50 last night that TM would be gone before the European elections, I disagree. Who's going to win?

MiniMoon Sat 04-May-19 17:32:18

Ed Balls, ye gods!

Grannyrebel27 Sat 04-May-19 17:17:19

Mycatisahacker Wed 01-May-19 20:53:59

I also think celebrity plays a part though not just need filter.

They all want to be famous Lammy, Soubery bercow instead of serving

Mycatisahacker Wed 01-May-19 20:51:56

lemongrove

Yes if he was innocent he would be on every radio show and TV channel now fighting back Who wouldn’t. He isn’t so he’s guilty.

notanan2 Wed 01-May-19 20:50:34

However, I wonder if in past times we had dreadful MPs/parliament but weren't aware of it?

Yup. News used to be filtered. Now its not.

Mycatisahacker Wed 01-May-19 20:46:55

Wow Gabriella

Personally I would say those 4 agree with them or not and o didn’t they were at least leaders and stable. Again I think drink may me involved with you mate grin

GabriellaG54 Wed 01-May-19 20:29:57

No matter which party governs the country, there are always naysayers and nit-pickers willing to unpick the fabric of society by causing unrest.
Wilson,Thatcher, Blair, Cameron to name a few who have been targets.

GabriellaG54 Wed 01-May-19 20:25:07

David0205
It was in the news.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 01-May-19 20:24:50

I’m quite sure that if there had been a worse government, we would have been made aware of it.

lemongrove Wed 01-May-19 20:22:52

Day6 yes, it’s entirely possible that past governments and oppositions were not much better, but we were either too busy bringing up our families or there wasn’t as much news about them, probably a mix of both.

lemongrove Wed 01-May-19 20:20:39

Mycat just heard about Williamson being sacked ( presumably for the security leak.) He is strongly denying it,
But would hardly have been sacked if there was no proof.
He wasn’t much liked apparently, within the Party.
Have to agree with you about this government and also the opposition, what a great choice we have for the next few years!!

Mycatisahacker Wed 01-May-19 20:11:32

Maybe take over from Theresa?? In my dreams! grin

David0205 Wed 01-May-19 20:01:39

Is RD back from maternity leave yet no mentions in the media.
That aside what on earth do you think she is going to do for the Tory party

Mycatisahacker Wed 01-May-19 19:28:00

My 87 year old very labour dad agrees.

And he says he has none to vote for.

Mycatisahacker Wed 01-May-19 19:20:50

We will send you the mogg?? grin

Mycatisahacker Wed 01-May-19 19:13:34

Thanks paddy you have to keep Nicola though grin there the deal

Mycatisahacker Wed 01-May-19 19:12:18

Yes come here Ruth Davidson we need you! A sensible woman.

I agree Day6

I think the media has persuaded MPs that they are somehow celebrities and personalities by themselves! Lammy, Soubery, Reece Mogg, bercow!! And not servants of the electorate with serious jobs.

I think they seem to think they are in a soap opera! Or a reality show

Day6 Wed 01-May-19 19:03:58

Can anyone ever remember a worse opposition and government than we have today???

Can't say I do Mycatisahacker. They are a shower of self-serving incompetents imo. I am totally sick to the back teeth of the lot of them, apart from one or two who seem to have integrity.

However, I wonder if in past times we had dreadful MPs/parliament but weren't aware of it?

Let's face it - we get minute by minute updates now via social media of their moves, words, etc and interaction in any event - at home or worldwide. So much is recorded and filmed.

We weren't subjected to this tsunami of news years ago, and reports were just that, reports, not some reporter's interpretation of the news, and the significance of events, according to his or hers bias. Oh for a neutral and fair stance once again!

There are days when I cannot be bothered with the news or hearing any more about going-on in Westminster.
